Mother’s Day and other stuff…
Today is the day people are supposed to show a little love and appreciation for their mother. Fact is, no one should need a day to make an excuse to love their Mom. Everytime I talk to her online or on the phone, I never end the call without letting my Mom know how much I love her. But still, it’s nice to have excuses to do something more, as opposed to doing something at all. I sent the best mother’s day card to my Mom. It’s got I love you written on the front, and then it has Ethan’s hand prints in the card and it says ‘this much’ above it. She’s gonna love it. She’s looking forward to seeing the little guy and they are going to be so shocked at how much he’s grown since the last time they saw him in December. It’s taller, walking and running around like an expert now. I’m also curious to see how the two St.Bernard’s react to him as well cause this time out Ethan will be more hands on and in their face this time out. Should be interesting, and I will be sure to get some photos taken of this encounter.
For mother’s day here on the island, Leah got a sweet card and breakfast made for her by yours truly. I tried to get away with calling our recent pregnancy this year her mother’s day gift, but no dice. I got to hit the mall later today and get her something real. Oh well, I had to try. We have two new couches without pillows so I think that might be the way to go, especially if I can get something that matches the weird color she managed to get for them. Well, I think I’ll also use our trip to Tennessee to get her something nice too. Maybe a cowboy hat or something that will help her blend in when going to the festival. I’m looking forward to going there as well. There are a whole pile of singers that I would love to meet and get an autograph from. Artists like Trivis Tritt, Lee Ann Womack, Neal McCoy and then some real hotties like JoDee Messina, Terri Clark and Chely Wright are going to be there as well. Leah will have to pick my tounge up off the floor if I get close enough to them. Leah has a few hunks on her hit list as well as she’s eager to get a signature and picture taken with country stars like Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. So I’m looking forward to going to this convention, should be a lot of fun for both of us…
I have to say, I’m really looking forward to watching Star Wars Episode III, but I really have to warn people… this is a movie that I would recommend NOT taking children to see. After reading some Parental Guides (the best one being at TheForce.net), it’s clear that this film is not intended for kids. This film has the potential to lead to some very sleepless nights for kids that might not be able to handle the death and carnage (yes, actual Carnage) that occurs in the film. In a nutshell there are scary monsters, children are murdered, some characters are burned alive and there is even one scene that some critics have referred to as ‘spousal abuse’. So this is something that parents are gonna have to take into consideration before they take any kids under the age of 13 to see this movie. I’ve talk to a buddy that had a chance to catch one of the press screenings, and he said the film is dark, much darker than he ever expected to see in any film by George Lucas. He also used the word vicious to describe the film as well. There are some scenes that are just gonna shock the hell out of the audience. My friend even went as far to say that Lucas strayed very close to getting an R rating for this film. That would have been interesting, an R rated Star Wars film. Can’t wait… it’s going to be an interesting movie experience.
So that’s all that seems to be going on the island. Not much more to report. Leah and I have a lot of fun things to look forward to, and I’ll definitely post some entries about them as they happen. I’ve got some reviews to work on, everyone have a great weekend and I’ll be around….

I remember when we lived in Tennessee and how we used to see Country Western singers at the mall and in restaurants. It was kinda neat even though I was not a fan.

Everyday should be Mother’s,Father’s Day,Grandparent’s Day, Childrens Day and Relative’s Day. Oh my heck, everyday should be a day that we let those we love know exactly how much we love and appreciate them. Be well,Monica

If only he’d strayed that close to the R rating on the first two…. Tell Leah that I said Happy Mothers Day!!

My Hubby is really excited about EpIII but I really couldn’t care less. I don’t care for Anakin/Darth Vadar, and a story following the creation of a villan character doesn’t appeal to me. Plus the thought of all the Jedi getting wiped out is such a bummer. I think Phantom Menace is actually going to be my fave in the prequel series. Good Lord, that is sad.

That little country convention sounds like SO much fun… but hey, I actually knew those names you mentioned. I’m sure a few of my friends around here wouldn’t.
