My name is Peter, and this is my Diary, back from internet limbo. Just a bloke in his late forties who's divorced with three awesome kids that I'm super proud of. I'm a writer, so entries could be fast and furious when the fingers are in a mood. I write comic books, novels, and poetry... so there should be no shortage of material here. I have been a member of Open Diary since June of 2000, and am a lifetime member. I'm glad to be back... and am happy to see OD is back as well.

Catch you on the flip side,

Peter

First Xmas with my new little fella…

December 29, 2024
I wasn't able to spend much time with Owen and the girls as I had Ethan and Jon at my place for the holiday this year. All the kids had a great Christmas and are looking forward to the year ahead.  I got to see the younger kids yesterday, and Kat is now staying over…

The Ten Worst Movies of 2024
    December 26, 2024
It's that time of year again! Christmas just sailed right on by and the new year is quickly approaching. I often like to use this time to reflect on the year that is about to exit stage left, and a yearly tradition here on Open Diary is to post both the lists of what I…

I've got some pretty big announcements to make, but first I am going to apologize for not writing lately. This time I have a perfectly good excuse as the PC I've been using for the last six years went tits up. It crashed a few weeks ago, and I had no access to many sites…

    October 29, 2024
This is not a drill... someone turned 49 a day ago! It's true; Peter is now one year away from half a century. To be fair, I have been rocking my 40's... and look damn fine for my age! Getting back on track... I had a pretty decent birthday yesterday as well! I was up…

This has been a killer summer for yours truly. While I haven't been writing as well as I would prefer to... other things have been going better than expected and that will do for now. When the kids go back to school in a few weeks, my plan is to buckle down and get shit…

    July 10, 2024
Yesterday Kat's mom sent me the following picture: Here we have the latest ultrasound of the new baby. Not much to look at, but according to the person who was conducting the test, everything looks normal. Well, as normal as it can look at this stage. And I did ask; they couldn't tell what the&he...

Can you guys believe it? June is almost over and we're already halfway through 2024. Time sure flies when you're having fun. While fun isn't exactly the word I would use to describe how things are these days, there are a lot of moments that have occurred over the last few months that have made&he...

Short Story: The Hard, Cold Truth
    March 31, 2024
Author's Note: This short story was originally written for a weekly writing contest on inkapp.io      Amongst fragrant bloom and the delicate lace of the wedding location, the atmosphere was alive with whispered promises and the sincere vows of two souls entwined in deepest love. Sydney and Jimmy...

I've always been a huge fan of this Tom Stoppard play. I have a copy of the script on paperback that I've read several times, and the DVD of the movie starring Tim Roth and Gary Oldman. So, when I heard there was a production of the playing coming to Toronto in March, also staring…

    The Best Movies of 2023…
    January 1, 2024
I thought there was no better way to kick off 2024 here on OD than to post what I thought were the best movies of the previous year. In a nutshell, 2023 was a pretty decent year for movies, as there were more original films than there were remakes or sequels... and while I hope…
