My name is Peter, and this is my Diary, back from internet limbo. I'm going on 42, divorced and with a few kids that I am super proud of. I'm a writer, so entries will be fast and furious when the fingers are in a mood. I write comic books, novels, and poetry... so there will be no shortage of material here. I have been a member of OD since June of 2000, and am a lifetime member, so I'm glad to be back... and so glad to see OD is back as well.

Catch you on the flip side,

Peter

Dad got hitched…

October 3, 2018
The end of the month will mark three years since my mother passed away, and last weekend my Dad got remarried. I am not upset about this, and am actually surprised it didn't happen sooner. My new step-mother is a nice person who actually knew both of my parents for a very long time. So…

  • Two truths and a lie…
    September 23, 2018
I'm going to make three comments about myself. Two of them are true, and one of them is a lie. Take a guess which of the following you think is false: Statement #1: I won a District Chess Championship when I was in high school. Statement #2: I once ate a live octopus the size…

  • Cultural Appropriation is Bulls**t
    September 23, 2018
Let's jump into something touchy, and separate the people from the snowflakes. The idea that you cannot pay homage to or mimic a culture without being called a racist is just outright bullshit. The people who are calling it cultural appropriation are failing to realize one important fact: culture...

  • The good ol’ hockey game…
    September 22, 2018
I went through with my threat, and took the boys to a hockey game. Leah thought I was crazy to take Jon to a late night event, but the little guy was so well behaved and had a great time! I always tell people who ask if I worry about Jon having a meltdown/incident that…

What I’m working on right now…
    September 12, 2018
It seems like there just isn't enough time to do anything. While I want to use that excuse a lot, the real truth is that I've been struggling with writing, and sometimes when that happens, this diary can be harmed by the lack of mojo. Even when I'm writing, I've got a full plate that…

  • Time for a stolen survey!
    August 28, 2018
I love doing surveys, and this is the newest one making the rounds on OD... so let's get at it! 1. How old will you be in five years? Obviously I will be five years older. Seriously, I'm almost 43 right now, so by then I will be pushing 48 and the big five oh…

  • In the last weeks of summer…
    August 28, 2018
This summer is in its home stretch, and I am spending the last two weeks of August with my boys. Leah is going to be working the whole two weeks, so by taking the boys she saves a boatload of cabbage in childcare costs. She did make a donation to help cover groceries, which was…

  • Summer’s just flying by…
    August 4, 2018
Another month is gone, and can you believe it's August already? Last week I ended a very amazing July but attending the Evil Twins concert in Toronto. My best friend and I ventured into the big city a week ago Thursday to see Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, but unfortunately Manson cancelled and c...

  • A day in Toronto, and an evening with Yanni
    July 26, 2018
I had Ethan at my place last week while Jon is at summer camp. We haven't been doing very much this week, just hanging out and chilling... doing what he would've done at his mamma's place without the need to hire help for an hourly wage. I really enjoyed the extra time with my oldest…

  • An evening with the Zac Brown Band…
    July 15, 2018
Two days ago, on Friday the 13th, I ventured into Toronto again to check out another kickass concert. This time, I went back to my beloved Skydome (officially known as the Rogers Centre, yuck) to check out one of my favorite Country acts known as the Zac Brown Band. I don't listen to as much…
