My name is Peter, and this is my Diary, back from internet limbo. I'm going on 42, divorced and with a few kids that I am super proud of. I'm a writer, so entries will be fast and furious when the fingers are in a mood. I write comic books, novels, and poetry... so there will be no shortage of material here. I have been a member of OD since June of 2000, and am a lifetime member, so I'm glad to be back... and so glad to see OD is back as well.

Catch you on the flip side,

Peter

Monday School: Atheist Misconceptions

January 7, 2019
On this day, that being the first Monday of 2019... I am bringing Monday School back to Open Diary! For those who are new, Monday School is a series that was started by a blogger on Open Diary named AUUB, which was short for Atheist Under Ur Bed, one of the more articulate and coolest…

I understand how bad I've been with this Diary, and I feel about it because should appreciate OD more and not take it for granted. I missed the fuck out of it when it was gone, and now I'm being a total slacker now that it's back. I feel like shit about that and intent…

  • No streak lasts forever…
    December 2, 2018
Joe Dimaggio's streak ended at 56. Cal Ripken Junior's at 2,632. My streak, while significantly less important, ends at 12. As in 12 straight years, but no further. First the first time in 13 years, Nanowrimo ended with the bitter taste of defeat. I didn't cross the finish line for the first time...

  • Tis only a brief update…
    November 12, 2018
This month's Nano is off to a very slow start. Last year on day twelve I was over 25,ooo words, and this year I'm barely past 4000. I've been struggling with my writing since the stroke, so I knew Nano this year wouldn't come to me as easy as it did to me last year.…

  • It has begun… Nano 2018!
    November 1, 2018
The the 13th straight year, I am participating in Nanowrimo, which is short for "National Novel Writing Month". I go even shorter than that and just refer to it as Nano. This is the second Nano since OD came back, but this is the first since OD went public. I remember doing updates here while&hel...

  • Websites, my birthday, and Nick Cave
    October 25, 2018
Thanks to a little bit of hustle, I've managed to get some more work done and catch up a bit. It's also nice to get some extra money too, especially when someone has a birthday coming up this Sunday. With the end of my year at 42 comes to a close, I found the perfect…

  • Time flies, one year already…
    October 20, 2018
Yesterday marked a full year since I returned to Open Diary. A year ago on October 19th, I received an email from the DM to partake in the beta testing for this new launch before everyone else got to come back. A lot has happened in 12 months, but I'm still here and thankfully OD…

  • Dad got hitched…
    October 3, 2018
The end of the month will mark three years since my mother passed away, and last weekend my Dad got remarried. I am not upset about this, and am actually surprised it didn't happen sooner. My new step-mother is a nice person who actually knew both of my parents for a very long time. So…

  • Two truths and a lie…
    September 23, 2018
I'm going to make three comments about myself. Two of them are true, and one of them is a lie. Take a guess which of the following you think is false: Statement #1: I won a District Chess Championship when I was in high school. Statement #2: I once ate a live octopus the size…

  • Cultural Appropriation is Bulls**t
    September 23, 2018
Let's jump into something touchy, and separate the people from the snowflakes. The idea that you cannot pay homage to or mimic a culture without being called a racist is just outright bullshit. The people who are calling it cultural appropriation are failing to realize one important fact: culture...
