My name is Peter, and this is my Diary, back from internet limbo. I'm going on 45, divorced, and with three kids that I am super proud of. I'm a writer, so entries will be fast and furious when the fingers are in a mood. I write comic books, novels, and poetry... so there will be no shortage of material here. I have been a member of OD since June of 2000, and am a lifetime member, so I'm glad to be back... and so glad to see OD is back as well.

Catch you on the flip side,

Peter

August has arrived…

August 3, 2020
August 2020 is here... wow. I guess how someone views the new month really depends on how well (or terrible) your 2020 is going I suppose. To some people, they'll be like "Wow, it's August already! This year is flying by!" Then we have the people who hate 2020, they'll be saying "Ugh, it's August...

  • Mid-Summer Night’s Update…
    July 17, 2020
I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, I'm still here! Even though I've neglected this diary a bit, I have still been working on other things. I finished the Neil Gaiman MasterClass, and it was awesome. I started to get a bit lazy for the homework, and the last four lessons didn't even…

David Mamet MasterClass: Assignment # 2
    June 23, 2020
I couldn't help it, I started to take another MasterClass while still doing the other one I'm more than halfway through. When I was in university, I used to take as many as 4 or 5 courses per semester, so taking two online courses just for kicks by comparison doesn't seem that tough. I can…

    Neil Gaiman MasterClass: Assignment #8
    June 23, 2020
I am just burning through all these lessons, and the assignments are more fun that I thought they would be. I'm looking at other courses, and trying to figure out what course I want to do next. I'm thinking of going with David Mamet's dramatic writing course, cause I would like to know more about...

  • Not the day I was hoping for, and that’s alright…
    June 22, 2020
Today Father's Day didn't go as well as I had planned. I was supposed to have the boys for the weekend, and I was thinking about taking Jon and Ethan to the park to meetup with their sister to hang out with her. That was the plan, but none of that happened. To be honest,…

    Neil Gaiman MasterClass: Assignment #7
    June 17, 2020
I've been really enjoying this Masterclass, and I can report that it's also helping me get my regular work done as well. I've gotten a fair bit of work done with both comics and novels and its been inspired work so it didn't feel like a chore either. One thing I like about Mr. Gaiman's…

    Neil Gaiman MasterClass: Assignment #6
    June 15, 2020
The last two assignments (#4 and 5) were a bit boring and not actually story related. So while I still did the work, I don't feel like posting them here, not yet at least. I'm learning a bit from the lessons, and the advice/stories being told during class is very inspirational.  I enjoy listening...

    Neil Gaiman MasterClass: Assignment #3
    June 10, 2020
While I'm posting the homework for this MasterClass, I'm actually taking 3 classes at the same time. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I'm going watch one lesson and do the homework for those classes before the day ends. On the other days, I do my regular comic/novel work. In addition to Gaiman...

    Neil Gaiman MasterClass: Assignment #2
    June 9, 2020
As promised in the previous entry, I am going to post most my homework from the Neil Gaiman MasterClass I started doing on Sunday. I've found the class videos to be very educational and inspiring so far. Gaiman is a very seasoned instructor and his lessons are easy to pay attention to. So with ou...

  • Katherine’s first birthday…
    June 7, 2020
Last Friday (June 5th) was my daughter's first birthday. After being a dad of just boys for sixteen years, I'm still getting used to saying that; my daughter. It's been a new experience since Katherine came into my life, and I can honestly say she's made the last twelve months better than I thoug...
