The big day is tomorrow…

I didn’t get to have that first meeting with my personal trainer this morning, but that’s all right. I used the time to get in a good 60 minutes workout before heading out for work. We are experiencing a nasty snow storm today, so I think he couldn’t make it in due to bad road conditions, which happens. I gladly rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon and that will be just fine. I’ll hit the gym a few hours after my interview and then meet up with the trainer after that. Should be educational and inspring. I’m looking forward to setting goals and getting things started and am glad that I’ll have someone with me to monitor and help make sure progress is made. I knew I was going to need help and was willing to pay extra to make sure I got that help.

Speaking about the Job Interview, it’s less than 24 hours away, and I’d be a liar I told you that I wasn’t excited. Like a noter said earlier this week, it was a rush to be recruited and persued for a change. To have a company out there to contact me and ask me to come in for an interview was a sweet experience. I just have one small problem. I wasn’t able to get my suit shipped in time for the interview. I’m gonna have to raid my closet and come up with the best possible outfit. It won’t be spectacular, but it will have to do. After all that persueing I don’t think my attire is going to be the deal breaker of the interview. Chances are experience and the contribution I can make to the company and the team will be the bigger factor. That’s what I plan to emphasize during the interview, and as long as the word commission is never spoken, things could turn out all right.

If I get the right offer, however, I will be history with this call center. Without hesitation I will hand in my notice and start saying my goodbyes. While part of me will miss a lot of co-workers who I like seeing everyday, I have to do what’s best for my family and that might be to take the higher paying job. If they offer what I consider to be an upgrade from what I have now, I’ll take it with few questions asked. But it’s got to be something better. With my family and kids, I can’t take chances on maybes or ifs. This has to be guarenteed or my ass is heading for the door. Regardless of what happens, it will sure be a very interesting meeting. I don’t know if I should be active and try to impress them, because after all they are the ones who invited me. I’m thinking maybe the best way to go is be reserved and just ask questions about the position and let them sell it to me.

One thing I no longer have to worry about is what I am going to wear. I have a nice pair of olive colored dress pants, and today I used what limited funds I have left and got a sweet black dress shirt that looks just amazing with the pants. It’s sweet set up and one I think will work at the interview. So I’ve got something to wear, and I place to shave first thing tomorrow morning… so things are on the up and up. Part of me is nervous and another part is not since they are after all eager to meet me and toss a pitch to get me to work for them. At minimum I’ll get a better 411 on what this job is and whether or not its something I want to be involved in.

Either way something will happen tomorrow, and whatever it is… I’ll spill all the details it here after I first report back to Leah. Until then everyone have a good Monday…

Peter

lol, don’t shave while you’re dressed for the interview, or you’ll for certain spill shaving cram or toothpaste on it. Remember to check twice for missed blobs of shaving cream, too. Good Luck!
