I can smell what the DM is cooking…

I got a bit of a sneak peak at the revamped Diary Circles, and based on what I’ve seen… it looks some kickass improvements are being added to a part of the site that hasn’t upgraded in a long, long time. From what I can gather, in order to post entries on a circle… you’ll have to join as a member. Once a member you can post as usual, but the DM seems to retain the right to kick you out of the circle if you get out of hand. That way if a certain someone is spamming any circle and filling it up with crap entries, the DM can remove that person’s membership from the circle and not allow them to post there anymore. This was long overdue, and if this is the way the circles are going to be run, then I applaud the DM for making this necessary change.

I don’t approve of spamming the circles, and think everyone should have a chance to post and be heard… so this is all good. I also like the idea of having a random button in the circles as well, that way you can read random entries from a specific circle which will increase your odds of reading a random entry that has a subject you will enjoy reading. That too is another impressive addition and one that I think will make reading the circles that much more enjoyable. This will not only make the circles more enjoyable to hang around, but prevent others from spoiling our fun. Much needed changes that will make OD a better place and for that I tip my cap to the DM and his latest efforts…

Now if we could only find a compromise on that menu up above… 😉

Did enough of us complain about Ashleigh and John?

Any indication if he is going to remedy the little problem of people with private or favs only entries posting in the circles? I can’t tell you how annoying that is…

If that’s true about the circles it’ll be a good thing. I know I’ve read a few circles and some people would keep posting things that had nothing to do with the topic of the circle.

The menu bar doesn’t bother me; that’s what we used to have a few years ago. It’s just a matter of getting re-accomodated to it. If what you describe does happen to the circles, then maybe I’ll stop shunning them, because I sure don’t like the way they are now.

I think the toolbar would be more valuable over <——- there where the faves list is.

Yeay! I hope he goes after a certain person or two!

Yay another Canadian 🙂
