Still here…

As the title says… I’m still here. Lightning didn’t strike down the heathen as he walked through the door. And much the disappointment of the friend who wanted my P2, I didn’t sponataniously combust during the ceremony. But I did have a good time and met a lot of nice people while watching a very interesting ceremony that celebrated the last supper a little different than what you would usually expect from most churches. This church, whose demonination I will keep myself to avoid steretypes (curious to see who recognizes it)… but it was interesting to observe and actually participate in. And while I’m not dashing to line up to convert, it was an interesting ceremony that I will describe here while trying to be respectful as possible.

One thing I did notice about the ceremony is that this particular church did a lot of bible reading and everyone read along with their own copy. I dnd’t realize how dedicated this particular demoniation was to actually reading the book and taking each word literally. It was an interesting thing to see, and the actual ceremony to commerate the last supper was the part I found the most interesting. Instead of people going up to the table to accept the bread and the wine, they passed the bread out and people passed to each other until it made it’s way around. People either took a bite/sip or chose not to before passing it on to the next person. What I found facinating about this is that even if you chose not to eat/drink the communion, you are still participating in the event as you are passing it to the next person and are involved. You’re not left behind to sit in the background and watch and everyone takes part together, making the ceremony something that unites people rather than separates them. That alone made it a very interesting

I met a lot of nice people, and they were very friendly and very pleased that some people were coming over to celebrate with them. Overall it was a very pleasent experience… and while I won’t be rushing back anytime soon it was an interesting experience. Afterwards a few people my own age, including the friends went to Dairy Queen and had a blizzard. I treated myself to a blueberry cheesequake blizzard, and that was cool for a treat. I hit the carb machines a little make up for it. So it was an interesting night, and it pretty much went without incident and was a very postive experience.

So that was my little trip to the Church. That’s enough religion for this year. Hope everyone is having a good week and I’ll be around.

Seriously man, you should have studied up on the Gospel of Judas and brought it up in conversation with them. They hate that, most Christians are quick to write it off as a fake.

I’ve never seen communion done that way, sounds interesting, now I’m curious as to what church it is, I’ve gone to a few services at the invite from friends, even though they knew my beliefs, or non belief as the case may be, it can be interesting, as long as they aren’t pushy about it, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself,
