Concert recap and other funny stuff…
Last night, Leah and I went to see Nelly Furtado at the Air Canada Center in Toronto. Leah had a lot of fun, despite having what could be considered a nose bleed seat. The two opening acts were nothing to write home about, but the main show was rather well done. I’m not the biggest Furtado fan myself, but it was a good show that was nicely executed. It was close to sold out at ACC, so it was a good crowd… and they were even doing a recording for a DVD that is going to be released close to the end of the year, so there’s something I can add to the list for things to get Leah for Xmas this year. My parents had no idea who this singer is, which is fair since she’s a) for younger audiences and b) Canadian. They haven’t been up here for a while, but for those who have no clue who I saw perform last night, here is a cool video from you tube… one of my favorite songs from her that she did actually perform at last nights show:
This next one is a on of Leah’s more favorite songs, and the guy she’s singing with here was one of her opening performers. The better of the two she had, and he sang this duet with her on stage last night as well…
Overall, we both had a good night and had zero trouble getting back to Hamilton after the show. We had bought day passes for the GO system. We took the train in, but used the same passes to take a direct bus back to the station in Hamilton after the show. Our house is only two blocks from that station, so it was perfect as we only had a 5 min walk to get back after that bus. I had originally planned to hire a fancy ride to the show, but am glad I didn’t cause it was rather cold out there today and we have a few bills that are more in need of being paid off sooner than later. The important part is we made it home safe and sound and everyone had a decent night.
So that was my Wednesday… hope everyone else had a good hump day as well. Speaking of something that humps, my brother showed me a video on you tube that has been recently one of the most clicked videos on the site recently. Someone (with obviously too much time on their hands) made a video (with World Of Warcraft characters) based on an Avenue Q song titled, “The Internet is for Porn”. It’s quite funny and amusing… so check it out if you want a good laugh…

You’re right…too much time on their hands, time that could have been spent surfing for porn (or downloading it on dial-up!)

I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to get them ahead of time, since we don’t know how high the demand will be to see the defending AL champs. 🙂 So I guess we’ll grab one for you too… Friday night. Any suggestions on seats?
