Time to play ball…
The season starts on May 14th. Well, mine does at least.
Over a dozen co-workers got together and coughed up close to $1500 to enter a team into a compeditive softball league that will play every week. We managed to find a rather cool and very compeditive softball league, and while I’m not sure how well or bad we’ll do, just being in a league like that will be very cool.
We voted on a name earlier this week, and our team will be known as ‘The Exhibitionists’. Catchy name, eh? Compared to the gross stuff the guys wanted to use before we picked this, I think we did all right. There are other grosser names in the league, so it gives you an idea of what kind of games we’ll have in the weeks to come.
We are going to get our uniforms in the next week or so before our first game. They’re going to be Red with Blue lettering. Can’t tell that the person orgnaizing this team is an Indians fan, can you? Oh well, I got the number I wanted anyway so I don’t care. I’m not picky about where I play or what part of the order I’m in as long as I get a chance to hit the field. It’s been a while since I’ve played in a league this compeditive, but it should be a lot of fun and I’ll get into things eventually. I can be very compeditive myself, but more than that this will be a good chance to bond and socialize with my coworkers. So it’s a win, win for me here…
That’s the biggest news out of Steel City right now. I’m going to be on a team, and this will at least give me something active to do over the summer. I also plan to buy a machine that will help will help me get some cardio exercise, something that I’ve been dying to get since I left the gym. I miss my eliptical machine and I’m going to start saving for one and I got a great place in the house picked out for it too. Something I need cause I gained a few pounds back since moving back to the mainland. Not what I wanted, but it happens.
Well, I’m hoping that baseball and working out again will trim a little off here and there and I’ll be back to the shape I was this time last year. Here’s hoping but I’m going to take it slowly again. That’s how I did it last year, that’s how I’ll do it again.
Well work is almost done. Have a good day people and I’ll be around.
Peter

Brain, I’m not sure that 24601 can even fit into a jersey, right Peter?

Unfortunately, 24601 couldn’t fit on the jersey. I considered it, but it wouldn’t have worked. If it could, it would have cost an extra $5 per number. So instead I went with # 33, which is the number for my favorite Canadian baseball player.
