Brief but complete update…

I don’t have much time cause the kids are just going down for a nap and I’m going to as well. Been very fatigued lately so I’ll get the Zzzz’s wherever I can find them. So in a nutshell:

– The meeting with the writer was very educational. We spent the better part of an hour talking about various things. We also touched on the pros and cons of book publishing in Canada. He has the samples I wrote and will comment on them fully the next time we meet which will be late next week. I can’t stand to wait either, but I guess I have to be patient to see what this guy thinks of my book and writings.

– Early Monday morning, I went into emerg with chest pains. Was very scary cause I never had those kind of pains before. Based on my condition and recent history of emerg visits, I was quickly given a bed. While it took a while to get the tests done, at least I was comfy while doing so. A 2 GB mp3 player helped pass the time too. The longer I was there, the more the pain went away. Tests showed it wasn’t my heart, thank goodness. Like I need anymore ailments at this time.

– The blogathon website hasn’t opened yet, despite a pledge to start taking orders on July 1st. They claim there are some bugs messing up the site, and I’m cool with that. As long as they have a more reliable mail server this year, I’m cool with any delay. Last year’s blogathon was a complete nightmare because of that. I almost didn’t take part this year, it was that bad. But I’m hoping they learned from that so this year’s will be just as promising if not better!

– I got some bad news from the family front. Turns out my mom is going to need a biopsy, for something that might be cancer. Leah and I are hoping for the best, but given my Mom’s medical history (Which has not been pretty for the last ten years), I’m bracing for the worst. Sometimes it’s good to be that way so if it happens you’re ready, but if you get good news it’s even sweeter to hear. Not sure how long we’ll have to wait but I’ll keep everyone up to speed.

– The hunt for new work has been pretty cold, but I’ll keep looking. There is a chance Chris might find work before I do and he might make me stay home with the kids. Hey, time with my boys would be cool but if I can find work, that would be cool too. I’ll keep plugging away.

So that’s it from hammer town. I hope everyone else had a good holiday weekend and all that jazz. I should be back on later and I’ll read and not everyone else when I get a chance. Until then, take care…

yanno, people gripe about our health care system, but when push comes to shove, I’ve been seen immediately whenever needed, at least in emerge, not always so with getting specialists though, glad it was nothing and your meeting went well, be well

Christ, man, we’re praying for you in DC!

*hugs* You take care of yourself there, buster! I’m glad the writer took your stuff home. Come to think of it, that makes far more sense than reading it right there & making comments. BTW, saw Transformers today… *AWESOME*. Completely awesome.

I’m still jelous about you actually meeting a writer. Hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your mum.

I hope both you and your mother are alright, and good luck with the writing!
