Blogathon # 21: Movies and TV Shows…

Time posted: 7:01pm EST

It’s 7pm, which means we’ve pasted the 10 hours. We’re two hours away from the half way mark of the Blogathon! I’ve been posting some short entries lately, but time has been short or at least it seems like it. The kids are up and bolting all over the place We have one of the ‘Land Before Time’ movies playing on the TV right now, the 6th movie if I’m not mistaken. It has the voice of Kris Kristofferson as a lone renegade dinosaur who comes in and helps out the little guys. Man, I’ve been watching this film way too much.

Other movies my little guys love watching is Finding Nemo, The Lion King, the Ice Age movies and a handful of others. We also use the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) to record their favorite shows and store them for future use. I’ve got half of the DVR (Motorola 6416) stuffed with episodes of Lazytown, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Babar, Blue’s Clues and Go Diego Go! And we eveh have some of our own shows recorded as well. Chris tapes episodes of Robot Chicken cause they air at midnight on the Toon Network. Leah and I love to watch cooking shows, so when we’re working or not awake, the machine will take our favorite shows off Food Network.

If you look on the machine, episodes of Hell’s Kitchen, Iron Chef America and Throwdown with Bobby Flay are some of the titles you’ll see in the menu. We also tape episodes of Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels. I think that show is fantastic… and the only good reality show on A&E. I love having the ability to tape any show I want now and watch them all later so my television adjusts to my schedule… not the other way around. We pay $19 a month to rent the DVR… and it’s worth every penny. I rent because if the thing goes tits up I won’t have to pay a dime to have a tech come out and replace it. Since we got the thing, there have been NO FIGHTS OVER THE TV. If there is a conflict, one person watched, the other tapes. Half of the fights I used to have at home was over TV conflicts, I’m so glad that Ethan and Jonathan will not have that problem in the future…

I love my DVR… 🙂
