Election Watch… (Edit x 10)
8:10pm – The kids are in bed, and I managed to get down in time to watch the announcement of Pennsylvania, which is a huge loss for McCain. He really needed that state. If Obama gets Florida, it’s over.
8:15pm – CNN’s coverage is really getting on my nerves, so I’m sticking with MSNBC.
8:35pm – Georgia just went to McCain… that was one of the States I thought might be spoiled, but I was wrong.
8:45pm – Ten minutes till some more polls close, and right now the score is Obama 103, McCain 58. We’re still waiting for the eight battleground states to turn (Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio). McCain needs to keep them all to win, Obama only needs one or two to topple his opponent’s house of cards…
8:54pm – CNN just called Kay Hagan for the Senate over Elizabeth Doyle, another pick up for the Democrats. One more seat closer to the golden number (60)…
9:05pm – Another handful of states turn for Obama, but this election is looking too close to 2004 for my liking. Obama hasn’t taken a 2004 GOP state yet, and until he does… I’ll still be very nervous.
But right now it’s looking good for the Democrat, with the current score being Obama 175, McCain 70.
9:25pm – There we go, a big red state has flipped… MSNBC has just called OHIO for Obama.
Obama 195, McCain 76
9:29pm – Leah just got home from work/class. She’s going to eat and watch the rest of the coverage with me. We are waiting for them to call Florida very soon.
9:33pm – Another state goes blue, MSNBC calls New Mexico for Obama… another red state goes blue. Obama now has 200 electoral votes.
Obama 200, McCain 76
10:01 pm – A lot of updates, Texas and Utah were called for McCain. Iowa was called for Obama, and that was another state that was red in 2004…
Obama 207, McCain 129
10:30 pm – Right now Obama only needs the West Coast and Hawaii to win… so the result is starting to look fairly obvious:

10:37 pm – They just called South Dakota for McCain and he also too Mississippi. But over 80 electoral votes will be decided at the top of the hour. I think the election might end at 11pm. We’ll have to wait and see.
Obama 207, McCain 138
10:53 pm – I was flipping through all the news channels while MSNBC was on commercial, and FOX NEWS just called Virginia for Obama. Another big loss for McCain… I smell a landslide! 🙂
Obama 220, McCain 138
11:01 pm – MSNBC called the entire election for Obama the minute the clock struck eleven. It’s all over, Barack Obama is the President-Elect of the United States.
Obama 297, McCain 139
nice. i’ve been doing this on mine, as well.

I’m obsessively checking CNN.com to see the latest stats. I don’t think I’ve ever anticipated something this much! (Well, maybe Christmas, but I digress.)

I wasn’t trying to attack I was trying to state my opinion. I wasn’t even trying to get into it with you. And no, you were not harsh, Peter , it’s just you were bringing up lots of stuff I’ve already thought about anyways during the past few years. I mean REALLY I’ve thought all this stuff out before. At least we have THAT stuff in common. 🙂 I’m sorry if I sounded crabby with you- like I wrote I’m tired & sometimes I can only handle so much verbal “jousting” without wanting to bang my head up against a wall. Most of the time I actually try to get along wt. people even tho I’m very opinionated.

I disagree with a ton of people on that issue Princess, you seem like a cool person and I look forward to talking and maybe lightly jousting on other issues. 🙂
