School Shooting Plot Thwarted in Arizona
The NRA hasn’t even made their ‘official’ response to last week’s shooting in Newton, but an arrest was made in Arizona today. The person was planning on shooting all her classmates before turning the gun on herself. Had it not been for the great work by authorities in Arizona, with a lot of help from police in Toronto, there could have been another major shooting in the US much sooner than we had feared.
This is why the Obama and Biden need to push for bans not only on assault weapons, but do background checks on everyone to make sure these guns are not going to be around or even near someone who is mentally unstable. This is why we can’t wait because more waiting will lead to more shootings and more death.
Here’s an interesting fact: in 2004 when Janet Jackson ‘accidently’ flashed her boob on nationwide TV during a Superbowl halftime show, Congress convened a special hearing ten days after the incident to make sure something like that never happened again.
Do you guys think it will take more or less than 10 days for congress to convene following the massacre in Newton? Since I doubt Congress will be in office on Christmas Eve, which will be 10 days after the shooting, my guess is longer. Much longer.

Toronto Police Help Thwart Arizona School Shooting Plot
Authorities in Arizona, with the help of Toronto police, have arrested a 16-year-old high school girl who they say was plotting to gun down her classmates and then kill herself.
The girl, who lives in Mesa, Ariz., about 32 kilometres east of Phoenix, is accused of posting a threat on a YouTube channel, saying, I now literally have a plan of seriously hurting killing murdering people in my high school.
The YouTube channel is owned by a transgender community in Toronto, which notified Toronto police. They tracked the poster to Arizona and contacted the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office Wednesday night.
Detectives visited the girls family home, where she admitted in front of her parents to posting the threat.
Police seized two computers and also found three handguns in the home. The weapons were released to the girls father for safe-keeping.
The girl faces one count of computer tampering and one count of threatening and intimidating.
Post alludes to Newtown massacre
In the YouTube post, the girl alludes to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn., saying that she had planned her attack well before last weeks deadly shooting.
The girl, who also serves as a student teacher at Mesas Red Mountain High School, wrote in the post, I WORK at the high school as a student teacher basically which is why no one can find out about me somewhat accidentally planning to blow up the school. (and yes it would be super easy ).
The girls parents told police that she has a history of mental health issues and had been seen by a psychiatrist. She had recently been asking where the guns were being kept in the house, they said.
Police said the girl admitted she was afraid she would really carry out the plans detailed in the post. She told them she had thought about killing for a while and planned to cut the wires to the security carts on campus to slow down response time during an explosion, and to shoot people from the other side of a fence.

**** like this doesnt need to be news. It doesnt need to tell the details so others can use it. How about instead of arresting her, they should recommend get her some mental health, but no just paint her with a ‘bad’ brush for the whole world to see.

Flowers, maybe you missed the boat, but attempted murder is a felony.

attempted yes, having ‘bad thoughts’ no. It sounds like she might be having gender issues (the fact that it was posted on a transgender website). Who hasnt questioned themselves and the world around them at 16? Actions can be tried, thoughts shouldnt be.

Making threats, especially threats to kill… are also illegal. Conspiracy to commit murder is as well. So yes, you can be tried for what you’re thinking, especially if you’re thinking it with someone else.

There was also a threat from a suburb of Edmonton in the last few days. Yes copycats … just what we need. People will do anything for their 15 min of fame.

Heard on the news re the NRA. Apparently there were 2 armed officers at Columbine (who did confront the shooters).. and there was still 15 people killed. So .. arming schools does not work. It would also cost 6 billion dollars a year. Wonder if the NRA will foot the bill for that one, as I am sure that taxpayers are not about to pay for it. It is just stupid to combat guns with more guns.
