Houseguests gone

hubbins family went home this morning. The house was full of good energy and happy. They are missed. We all slept till noon. My father called and woke me. Nothing discussed.

My renters are moving out. Whew! I drove by and saw the signs. maybe they’ll even leave things relatively nice as they go.

Bought a lamp for my room.

Printing up a bunch of lessons/word lists for one of the things on my Big, fun, scary list for 2008. They have an interactive tool that asks you to pick out the riight word from a list when you are given the english word. I got a 72% correct just guessing at the bulgarian words. But I have to confess I only had 2 choices. You can get up to 6 choices. I would still sound like a weird little kid with a speech impediment if I was made, at this point, to say anything past I want water and I love you in Bulgarian. All in all, given the fact that its been over 20 years since I had a real live person in the house to talk to (and he only taught me the word for celery) I can’t be too discouraged after allmost a year with a small phrase book and a half dozen chalga CD’s its almost as good as my spanish. As Larry the cable guy says "Lord, I appologize…"

The other two things on my list?

Sleeping in a fire lookout tower (which I need a brave friend or relative to go with me)

and seeing one of my novels finished and in print.

Its a short list.
