things you should know by this age

– things you should have learned by middle age-

1) If you’re too open minded your brains will fall out.

2)Don’t worry about what people think; they don’t do it very often.

3)Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.

4)It ain’t the jeans that make your butt look fat.

5)Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

6)My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.

7)Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.

8)It is easier to get forgiveness than permission.

9) For every action there is an equal and oposite government program.

10)If you look like your passport picture, it’s probably time for the trip.

11)Bills travel through the mail at twice the speed as paycheques.

12)A concience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.

13)Eat well, stay fit, die anyway.

14)Men are from earth, women are from earth, deal with it.

15)No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes

16)A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.

17)Middle age is when the broadness of the mind and the narrowness of the waist trade places.

18)Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

19)Junk is something you always throw away three weeks before you need it.

20)There is always one more imbecile than you counted on.

21)Experince is a wonderful thing, it allows you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

22) By the time you can make ends meet, they move the ends.

23)Thou shalt now weigh more than thy refrigerator.

24)Someone who thinks logically provides a nice contrast to the real world.

25)If you must pick between two evils, pick the one you haven’t tried before.

This is soooo cool. Did you think of all of this? I love number six.I must admit I have actually done that a couple of times while being on OD, but then I actually do get off here and sweep the floor, ans vac, and wash it–it really does look much nicer thanhaving biscuit crumbs, etc all over it from the kids!No.15–well you’d have to crazy to shoot the help wouldn’t you!!

And I hope number 17 never ever efects me that way!! I might have five children but I my waste isn’t that wide!! How coul dit be with all the running around I have to do looking after them all??Hmmm, one thought though,When is middle age now?? Does 42 count when people are living until they are 100 these days?

Oh and nuber three–yes, i am finding that out more and more—though church can definitely help you to become one!! I don’t think I would have without it..I needed som ehelp to learn about the love of Jesus first.i met a lot of truely beautiful people there who showed mr what jesus was relly like. They were so full of his love and kindness, and caring and concern. My heart just melted…

They took me in like a motherless child accepts an orphan and they doted on me, and fed me, and spoke to me about all kinds of wonderful things that God had planned for me.I felt like I was already in a little slice of heaven….It was wonderful to feel god’s love for me like that, especially seeing I was so sinful before then.Yeah, so I was glad I had a church to go to.

It’s kind of like having an extended family.

pps.i just caught up on your pictures of the sky there.Oh Cat, they were sooo beautiful!I really feel at peace inside just looking at them.It just goes to show what a greast artist God is don’t you think? He makes the colours for you so you all you need to do point the camera at the sky, press your finger on the button and hey presto, you can have a picture for your wall!

Hey…. these look familiar!

My questions is: If the balckbox in the plane is indestructible, why don’t they make the whole plane out of the same stuff? I know – it would be too heavy.

i love reading lists like this! take care,

ryn: Yeah, but my entry was titled Food for Thought 1/1/2006. That doesn’t mean you stole them. That just means great minds think alike 🙂

ryn: I still have things to write you about eBay. I have quite a few things to send off on Monday. After sending off one of my items yesterday, I’m still trying to figure out whether it’s worth even doing… you know, actually profitable. When I work all of that out, I will give you another e-mail.

8)It is easier to get forgiveness than permission. I have to heartily disagree with this one. Once you injure someone’s trust, you have to work your ass off to heal that injury. If it is ever even possible. In most cases, you destroy the relationship entirely.

I am so tired of people who practice #8.

August 13, 2006

I must admit I got a chuckle out of this. I must have read it at least twice, laughing a little harder each time. I have heard many of these, and many of these are true. Have fun.

August 13, 2006

ha ha. I am not photogenic and in all my legal pictures (drivers etc) I look like a drug addict.

August 13, 2006

I have a recent photo of that killer hike. I don’t look like a fashion plate. I look like I should be on the farm in Australia. I will upload it on my diary.

I love the list. but i don’t agree with 17 but maybe its because i’m beyond middle age heading into yea ancient one. I have found life indeed is stranger than fiction. Take Care

Okay, there is few more for you in my diary!!

Awesome list and oh so very true 🙂

Hi! I loved that one too.I’m glad you liked it.i tried several different angles to see how I could get the fence into the picture, that one seemed to work the best, giving you an idea of how wide those paddocks really are.I think that fence would run for at least four kilometres across the land.

August 13, 2006

hehehe…i live your old age wisdom…i just might steal it and post it somewhere where i can look at it often…maybe as wallpaper…kudos to you!
