LOST

So, on Sunday I went to Blockbuster videos to get two more discs of the LOST series and meant to get disc 3 and 4 of the second year (They don’t have any of the first season.  I saw it at Fry’s this Christmas and thought about buying it, but $54 was way too much) but accidentally got 3 and 5.

I have been going to work and coming home and watching the discs in sequence.  I really like this show – it’s very good for broadcast TV.  I’ve been watching LOST online at ABC.com too, but they only have a few up – recent ones, which I am watching for the second (or third) time.  Mr. Eko’s storyline is very facinating, and by renting the early episodes, I’m filling in his backstory quite a bit.  Eko is a very interesting character.

All the people in this story are interesting (in addition to being attractive too.  You know what I mean – the womean are good looking.  So the cat’s a dog.  Big surprise, eh?)  I will be renting more of the series.

On Monday, I went back to Blockbuster and asked if I could trade disc 5 for disc 4, and saw the same female manager who was there the day I rented them, when the computers froze up and I needed cash (I wrote about that day a few posts back).  Anyway, she remembered me and said "of course – go pick it out" so I was able to get disc 4 for 5.  Gotta watch ’em in sequence, ya know.

Here I am on my couch, with Blacky Cat, who usually doesn’t do this:

But then, I don’t often sit on the couch anyway. preferring to sit here at my desk.  I like my cat on my lap (brings to mind a joke of some kind… pussy on my lap or some nonsense).  He was purring too.

Tonight is LOST night, so I’ll catch the new one on TV, but it isn’t on for an hour and a half, so I think I’ll eat dinner and watch last week’s episode online.  I dunno if I’ve ever mentioned this, but cable internet rocks.  I can watch TV online and uploading pics to Photobucket takes way less time than it did on dial-up.

Misc work things:

I spoke to the asst. director today and got a copy of my three month’s eval.  I am very pleased with it.  They are pleased with me.  I like this job a lot.

Before the break, I wrote several Referrals for the Elementary School kids on my bus.  One of them’s off for good, and several are off the bus this week, and a few are off the bus for the month.  My god, the bus is still full, and they are still in need of learning about how to ride the school bus, but there is definate progress being made.

My former wife called me "determined" and I guess maybe that’s true, cuz I am determined to learn these kids how to ride the school bus, and I have determined that I will take this route too for the new school year. It’ll give them, and me, some consistancy, and damn if I’m going to give up when the going gets rough.

I should get my new glasses soon – the place I went to isn’t one of those "glasses in about an hour" kind of places, and the glasses are that much better quality so will be worth the wait.  I went all out ordering them – Photo-brown ("Transitions") lenses with anti-reflective coatings, polorized, polished edges in the rimless frames, two year guarantee against scratching – the works.  I will be ordering some new suglasses at a later point.  I want to get brown lenses with a bronze mirror finish.  I’ll be getting a stick too, cuz I’ll be so awesome lookin’ I’ll have to beat ’em off…with a stick.

Well, a guy can fantasize, eh?

Interestingly, there were 40 or more views of the last post, which was like, very significant to me and my life, but only about a third of them left any kind of notes.  I seem to have a lot of Portland readers these days.  Fuck, I’m damn near famous, in an anonymous sort of way.  Fulfilling another of my life’s goals, you know.

At the moment, I like this life a lot.

ICBW.

I just got done watching tonites episode of LOST. I lost (no pun intended 🙂 there for a while but now I’m hooked again.

I’ve never seen Lost, and I regret it now that I keep hearing so many people rave about it. I’ve heard that it has slumped a tiny bit this season though…. have no idea if that’s true!

I’ve never watched one episode of Lost..one of these days 🙂 Get a big stick, you’re gonna need it!

I ALWAYS enjoy reading your writes! I never really got into “Lost”; in fact my lifes so unpredictable that watching any show EVERY week is very unlikely to happen ! LOL ;~)

tv time is always nice

I hope to get into Lost eventually. My sister loaned us Season 1 and 2 – they have the dvd sets… just haven’t gotten around to watching them just yet.

I’ve worked hard not to get sucked into Lost. I have The Shield to watch and some other ones, tho I’ve heard Lost is pretty good. Good for you for sticking with the job. I think you’ve got some talent for it! *grins*Light of heart,

Lost is one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I’m hoping to get the DVD’s of the first two seasons so I can start at the begining. I anticipate there will be many things I missed seeing the show on TV.

I love when one of my cats just sits curls up next to me and purrs. Both of them are quite friendly that way. I’ve watched one, maybe two episodes of Lost (from the first season), and I liked it well enough, but I could never remember when it was on. Now, when I see it, flipping through the channels, I don’t know what’s going on.

It seems that you are enjoying Lost very much. I loved it the first season, after that due to some really stupid wasting of my time, my own fault, I lost track of what’s going on. Maybe I’ll rent it myself, and catch up. Your cat looks nice, and comfy. He’s beautiful.

the glasses and stick reference made me think of a white cane – maybe i better duck. say i like what you said about the kids on the bus, and that you want that route next year – brave of you and it will be good for the kids too. you have a calling, you know.

I’m so jazzed for you that you get to write referrals about the riders on your bus. Hey, at least you get an opinion heard.
