rain again

It’s very surprising, but the weather geeks were wrong again.  It’s been raining since yesterday afternoon.  A small "sneaker storm" they say.  Snuck right by ’em.  Well, I suppose I should give ’em a break because weather is a complex beast and is indeed hard to predict, and it is the rainy season.  They claim the weekend will be "sunny but cold".

So, A called me last night at about 8.  His battery died in his Cherokee, and oh what a surprise, his truck’s battery was too tall for the Jeep.  The truck hasn’t run for years anyway.  He needed a ride to Walmart to buy another battery, so I drove over and got him and went to wallyworld.

It’s like going to the United Nations there – everyone shops at Walmart.  I’d forgotten what kind of selection and good prices they have; looked around while we were waiting for someone to show up in the auto section.  A got a battery for a pretty good price and we went back to his place and put it in the Cherokee and wall la, the jeep started right up. I got home after ten and went right to bed – thank god today’s not as long a day as Wednesdays.

The waters had receeded but I could see where they were and match what I saw with what was shown on the news the other day.  Interesting.

Oh, time to get ready for work.  There’s bus driving to be done.  The last of the Navy days pics will be posted later this morning, so off I go – see ya later, gator.
