no snow plus 1 teaser
The news last night was harrowing; a winter weather apocalypse was predicted. Winter Weather would move in by 11 pm on Friday night and we’d be looking at skating rinks instead of roads.
It didn’t happen.
In Portland, anyway. The rain didn’t really get started until near the end of my paper route this morning, and by then it wasn’t so cold that it froze on contact with the ground; it’s just raining.
What that will do for my driving tonight is anybody’s guess. The papers are thick again with Holiday ads. Last year, in snow with cable chains on the stepvan, I was invincible. If it gets icy out, I’m sorry, but the papers WILL be late; I get paid to deliver them, not to die trying.
Got a lot of good pics the other day in the Gorge. (over 250) We’ve seen my favorite falls in the Gorge, Sheppard’s Dell, a few times here, but never before in the winter, with that falls, which is normally hidden by brush, iced over and fully visible. Stay tuned; I have to edit that set of pics, but they’re next up.

The water falls at Sheppards Dell.

I’m glad the route was safe last night and hope the same for tonight!

When we were doing papers, after many nights of “sweating it” when it was bad out, finally decided that in bad weather, the papers would get delivered when they would. Of course, that only worked on the week-ends. During the week, had to get them done quicker as i had my “day job” to get to, even tho’ the kids would have a snow day or at least a delay. Be safe.

I am not fond of driving on ice. At least at that early hour, you don’t have to worry about so many idiot drivers, the worst part of driving on ice!
