It is snowing and it’s ice for us now

I went downstairs and pulled the windshield wipers off the windshield because it is indeed snowing.  The car said it’s 32 degrees; I decided I didn’t need to go for a drive.

Given the temperature, I probably won’t be able to get to Oregon City to pick up A for a traffic court appointment tomorrow.  I think they may well cancel court tomorrow if it ices up.  It’s been a long time since we had an ice storm, and I for one am really thankful I don’t have to drive around at 4 am with newspapers on icy streets.

Not worth it to damage my car.  Not for 20 bucks.  I’m glad I don’t have that job anymore.

I was planning to get up early to get to Oregon City early enough so that my friend wouldn’t stress, so I’ll get up a little earlier to watch the news.  If it looks dangerous, I don’t think I need to go anywhere.

update:

"Don’t Drive if you don’t have to".

Coldest November day in 25 years and they’re already talking about how it might be a fatal drive in the morning.

Betcha I stay home tomorrow.  Got the tires siped and it makes a difference, but ice?  Best thing to do with ice is to wait for it to melt.

It’s snowing on the beaches. Passes are entirely snowed over. It’s gonna be bad.

it’s not safe to drive on ice at any time. if it even looks like ice, schools are cancelled and people are told to stay home here. better to be safe than sorry. take care,

I remember those ice storms. I lived in East Portland, 111th off Powell to be exact, and man, that stuff was evil to drive in! I’m glad you don’t have to be out and about in it.

be safe!

Oregon City – not a place I would want to be driving around in right now. One of the accidents I was in was in Oregon City when I had to go down the hill.
