And she’s back!

I couldn’t believe it when I saw that OD was coming back online after all these years. I hadn’t been writing very regularly at all the couple of years before it was shut down so when it did disappear, I was disappointed that I’d lost so much of my writing but, to be honest, it didn’t overly affect me. I was lucky enough to have already had several of my closer friends on here also on Facebook so through the years I could still somewhat keep up with what they were doing – at a distance and in much less detail, of course. But still, when I heard OpenDiary was being restarted, I suddenly felt an excitement at the idea that I would be able to reopen this treasure trove of all my high school/teenage memories. Unfortunately only about 5 of my earliest entries from 2008 were recovered, the rest has seemingly disappeared which is a huge disappointment because I know I had hundreds and hundreds of entries and now, poof, they are no more. Not to mention those entries that were recovered are absolutely horrific in every way and they make me hate my 2008 self – I mean, what on earth kind of drugs was I on to make me think that sort of writing style was okay?! I was only 14 years old, though, so let’s just blame it on that…

Anyway! I’m 24 now, with a slightly better writing style (but still not great, let’s be honest), and hopefully a little bit wiser, too. I’m just as clueless as to where my life is heading as I was when I last wrote here, but while I figure that out I’ve been working and travelling, plus smashing out a whoooole lot of hours on Netflix.
