Thursday 12/28/23

5:45a.m. I had a dream that I was Conan the Barbarian. I had another dream where I was evicted from Misery Towers. I was homeless. Other than that I had a big good night’s sleep. Aide put me in bed at 9:30. I must of been tired because I fell asleep right away. I slept sound with no arthritis pain bothering me. I’m doing good this morning. I could use some coffee but that will have to wait.

I called Chocolatechip. She was in good spirits. There is no apparent side effects from her shot she said.  She was telling me that , Tommy Smuthets of the Smuthers brothers died. They had a show way back in the 60s that was pretty controversial back then. Anyways, she had a good night as well. She slept for ten hours she said.. 

8:29a.m. I had three slices of French toast for breakfast. It was delicious. The coffee and juice also helped. In addition arthritis pain is down to a 1 on a 1-10 scale. Also, I’m not bloated even after eating a big breakfast. So I’m having a very good morning.

I’ve been talking with Chocolatechip a lot. She said she had minor chest pain but it went away. We talked about the old Smuthers brothers show and Laugh  In. She was cooking today and that is always a good thing. She was boiling water to make macaroni salad. I me mentioned about reading the Bible last night. She talked about getting a Bible. I highly recommended my NIV Study Bible published by Zondervan. I said you can get a hard copy from Amazon.

I’m waiting to be changed. The aide said she will come in to change me soon. I hope she comes soon because I’d like to go to the Coffee Social. I can always use more coffee. 

1:10p.m. I had a good time at the Coffee Social I had one cup of coffee while reading a chapter in The Dark Tower.  This was a very scary chapter. I swear there must be something wrong with King. He sure does write some weird shit. There must be something wrong with me for reading that crap. No wonder I have nightmares.

I read for an hour. Just when I finished a chapter Lynn from PT came for me She took mel to the gym.  She gave me a tough workout today. I said to her I must of turned into a wimp in my old age. My arms were really aching when we were finished 

Lynn took me back to the dining room. They served two egg salad sandwiches. I ate one and had a bowl of corn chowder. They also served a cup of pasta salad which I don’t eat. That one sandwich and soup made me very bloated. So I made my way back to my room.

I called Chocolatechip. We talked for about thirty minutes utes.  The pain in my belly got worse. I went to the nurse’s station. They gave me some Mylanta and that settled my stomach. After that the aides came to put me in bed and change me. So that’s pretty much sums up my day.

5:57p.m. I didn’t feel like eating supper for some reason. They served herb roasted chicken, scalloped potatoes, carrots, a dinner roll and pumpkin the crunch with whipped topping. I ate the chicken and pumpkin crunch.bi just didn’t have an appetite tonight. Chocolatechip went to be ed early. We  talked for a few minutes after supper

7:36p.m. I spent the last hour reading Leviticus. I read chapters 23-27 finishing that book. So far I’ve read Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus. I hope to start on Numbers tomorrow night. I am keeping my promise to study the Bible one hour every day. I’m going to read The Dark Tower for an hour then go to bed.
