Somewhat Normal

Today turned out to be a halfway decent day, even without Christina at the helm.  She doesn’t take Fridays off regularly, but when she does, I always feel it.  She’s my refuge, the one I run to whenever I need a temporary escape from either the myriad of dumb people in the office or even when it gets ridiculously hot at my cubicle.  Because the vent and climate control system in the office refuse to work on my side of the office, I am usually left to work in 80-degree temperatures at my desk.  Apparently, getting that damn vent to work is hardly a priority and I’m left to deal with it on my own.  Anyway, enough about vents that don’t work.  Back to the entry…

Fridays in the office are usually pleasant because half of the office is gone.  That’s fewer people with whom I might have to deal.  The fewer people in the office, the better I feel.  It’s always been that way with me and I don’t see that changing any time soon.  Fewer people always leads to a happier me.  It just does.

I maintained some measure of productivity today and I want to say that I got a lot done.  Christina might disagree and that’s okay.  We seldom argue (in fact, we never argue) and suffice it to say that we’re not going to get into it over how much I did and didn’t get done while she was away.  Besides, it isn’t like I won’t be working tomorrow morning at 4:45am again.  I know she means well and she’ll always have my back, just as I have hers.  I probably should step up my game and get even more done.  I mean, it wouldn’t hurt.  I know that a lot of other people in that office are lazy.  I need not be like that and stoop to such levels.

I foresee another typical weekend looming on the horizon.  I am looking to do some surgery on my Spice Orange Nintendo GameCube.  Specifically, we’re looking to replace the laser lens with an optical drive emulator (ODE).  I installed one of these in one of my Sega Saturns last year, so I’m not anticipating that the process would be any more complicated than it was for that console.  I remain hopeful, though I’ll admit that I should probably dust off that GameCube before I do anything else with it.

I just saw a trailer on YouTube for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series slated to release on Disney Plus in early March.  The trailer looks promising, but I’m scared that somehow Disney is going to find a way to fuck it up, like they do damn near everything they touch.  It’s like Disney is a damn disease that is just looking to infect whatever it can dig its tentacles into.  Disney has already screwed up Star Wars.  I am hoping that Marvel isn’t next, but Disney has already messed up She-Hulk and Spider-Man.  I love Daredevil and I am damn near praying that Disney doesn’t desecrate this character like they have other Marvel characters.  Disney continues to be a garbage-ass company.  Just ask Star Wars fans.  They’ll tell you the same thing.

Work.  Gaming.  Marvel.  Yup, kinda touched on everything I consider to be important to me.  Well, Marvel not that much, but I am looking forward to that new Daredevil series.

That’s all I have for now.  We’ll see how the weekend goes.
