Forgiveness/ Vengeance/Remeberance

The Almighty stated in several places in the “old” and “new” testaments that He would not remember sins once He has forgiven them. Thus, the notion that “God doesn’t forget sins” does not align with what He said.

“For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12.

“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25.

“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jeremiah 31:34

Those are just three verses. There are many more throughout Scripture that allude to a time when our sins will be forgotten. It’s true that we must use His processes to obtain such forgiveness, but once it has been granted, it has been granted. No human, religious or otherwise, can undo His forgiveness or sway His decision to have mercy on who He will.

The processes by which we obtain forgiveness include acknowledging (to God) and repenting of our sins, forgiving other people, believing that we have been forgiven, walking in Spirit, making amends when applicable and possible, etc. These processes do not include punishing ourselves incessantly or accepting other people’s projections of shame, humiliation, and guilt into our beings.

Yes, there may be natural worldly consequences we need to suffer because of a previous decision to commit a sinful act. But these natural consequences are not the same thing as “pocketing” someone’s past sins and using them as manipulative weapons. You get the idea.

Sin forgiveness is provided by the Almighty, is of the Almighty, and is through the bridge that He Himself has offered to us because of His merciful nature.

Repeatedly reminding someone of their sins or past is of the enemy. Taking vengeance for the same offense repeatedly is of the enemy, as is the “tit for tat” game. Attempting to provoke a meek person to anger (or any other extreme emotion) is of the enemy. Challenging someone to “prove” they are who they say they are is of the enemy as well.

All are processes designed to keep folks off the bridge and away from the Father’s good graces. They are revised versions of “Hath God said” used to weaken and blind those who succumb to them. They are nothing more than the same seeds of doubt that robbed Adam and Eve of their paradise. So I urge anyone who is currently caught up in these practices to turn away from them and toward the bridge, which is Yahusha (the one you may call JC, Yeshua, Yahoshua, Yahshua, Yahowashi, and the like).

PERSONAL FORGIVENESS

The Bible states that we are to forgive other people for all sorts of offenses, shenanigans, and even downright heinous acts. It does not say that we must reconcile with every person or party who has previously offended us. It does not say we must always announce the forgiveness to every person personally or publicly, nor does it say we should always re-serve ourselves to our enemies on a silver platter. Common sense, discernment, divine guidance, and “testing of the spirits” are still required in all situations.

True forgiveness is a promise to unchain oneself from the burdens of resentment, wrath, vengeance, bitterness, rumination, and all those spiritual nasties that can cause our own blessings and forgiveness to be blocked. It is the act of letting offenses go and letting God handle them as He wishes. That does not mean you wait patiently for someone else’s destruction so you can watch and ridicule it. It means you put all your baggage down and move forward in your relationship with the Almighty.

Forgiveness is not a promise to return to any physical place or person. It’s a promise to not be bound to the spiritual places you once were.

Some people can be forgiven personally, while others may need to be forgiven silently or only in the Almighty’s presence. In Luke 23:24, Yahusha forgave all who wronged him by asking His Father to forgive them. This was not a “blog post” or a personal conversation He had with all of His offenders, but rather a prayer He sent directly to His Father.

VENGEANCE IS HIS

Vengeance is His. He will repay. Deuteronomy 32:35 and Romans 12:19. Old and new testaments. That is what He hath said.

OT LAWS AND PRACTICES

Some things have been fulfilled and are not required of us to do. Some are traditions of men. Others are perpetual practices meant to be done throughout our generations. That is all I will say on these matters.
