The Star of the Show

All glory and praises to The Most High. Thank you for another beautiful day.

I write every day, but not all of my posts see the light of each day anymore. That’s because I ask myself who the star is on every page. It is me? Is it “the wicked”? Is it their father, or is it my Heavenly Father?

See, every one of us has a tendency to want to talk about ourselves. We also tend to lean toward highlighting the “good” in ourselves and/or the “bad” in other people while ignoring the reverse. That’s normal human nature and doesn’t mean any specific person or people are automatically children of the devil. But it’s something that must be tamed, extinguished, or refined so it can’t be unknowingly used in some other entity’s wicked plots.

The Bible says that NO ONE is good except the Almighty (Mark 10:18, Psalm 14:3, etc.), yet our egos tell us we are, and the enemy often cheerleads the crap out of that delusion. But nothing good ever comes from putting time and energy into trying to perpetuate that lie in any way. All have sinned. All have fallen short. None can be righteous without Yahuah’s righteousness (Yahusha, the Word, etc.). No man, woman, entity, or any other created being can clothe themselves or anyone else in it, either. Only Him

Long story short, we all have more than one enemy whose “devices” we need to look out for. There’s the old serpent, of course — the created one who trolls the Creator daily. There are the ones who follow the serpent, indeed, but then there’s the self. Some call it the “sin nature,” “the flesh,” our own “wicked hearts,” etc. It’s all the same thing, though: the self.

None of our enemies should be the star of the show in any aspect of our lives.

Walking in Spirit is something that must be purposefully and willfully done daily. To accomplish that, one must resist the devil and deny the self by submitting it to the Almighty’s will and lead. Every true child of “God” can do it, but the Spirit will never force it. It will nudge, inspire, or encourage but never oppress.

Perspectives change when walking in Spirit. Spoken and written words transform. Compassion and empathy for others increase, unpleasant situations become wisdom, and suddenly, the Almighty’s glory can be seen everywhere — the clouds, the trees, a kind word, smiles on strangers’ faces, etc.
