Yesterday Morning

We stood on a bridge over I-66 yesterday morning and watched Rolling Thunder (or at least, a part of it) roll into town.  Cycles as far as the eye could see.  We watched for like 10-15 min., and we didn’t see the start and we certainly didn’t see the finish.  There were bunches of us up there, some folks with flags, everyone cheering, waving, and V signs.  My bike only has pedals, but I salute them.

The newspapers just says "tens of thousands" of bikes came into town.  The absolute best view is to sit on the west balcony of the Lincoln Memorial and watch them come into town over the Memorial Bridge.

I live right near the West Side Highway. A few times a year there are hundreds of motorcycles on the highway. I’ve never figured out why so many are riding together – for what purpose?

that must have been thrilling to see, hear and feel. take care,

I hope that you’re having a good Memorial day weekend. I will have to look up rolling thunder to see what it’s about.
