Maverick Effect (Chapter 14)

The drums beat out a steady pulse.  It was kind of sound that made you want to move.  And moving the crowd was.  The bass guitar flowed on like a dark rainbow of sound.  The lead guitar joined in the path of the notes and the crowd roared their approval.  The beat went up, going faster and faster, then just at the height, rising out of the sound.  The sound of a violin rose above it all.  The roar became almost defening as Maverick came onstage, playing his Strad.  He moved and flowed with the music.  Energy seemed to almost flow through him.  He played hard and strong, he sang, his voice belting out music in lyrics that pierced the heart and made the body move.  He danced, jumping on the stage, his hands flying, leading the crowd in singing the chorus.  He put on a show like no other performance.  The entire stadium was sold out.  He had members of the Maverick Fan Club throwing out shirts, caps, and cds into the crowd.  He flipped and cartwheeled around the stage, fireworks exploding at his command.  Finally, he belted out the last note and shot up his hands to a dazzling array of fireworks.  The crowd roared and cheered as he bowed and the lights went out.
