Kicking off 2014

The 2014 model car show season kicks off this weekend with a show in Spartanburg, SC. I was remiss with my building during the winter, the only things I’ve finished since the last show in Atlanta last November was a Dodge Dart ‘70s Late Model Sportsman race car (which I intended to have finished for Atlanta but experienced a paint disaster at the last minute) and a new build started over the Christmas break of the racing version of the new Moebius 1956 Chrysler 300.

In my defense I spent much of that time creating more decal artwork on the computer for the historical model cars and playing with the puppy. She seems to be at 100% since getting spayed over the holidays.

The pace at work seems to have hit a bit of a lull, I have a quantity of parts on order for a project and when those arrive I’ll need to travel to Connecticut in early spring to have the parts assembled and welded. In the meantime we’re still preparing plans and doing preliminary R&D for a contract that might be opened in February with quotes and sample submittals two months later. If the company decides to participate it will require everyone to jump through flaming hoops for two months, a part of me almost hopes we decline to participate.

A Dart! You helped me find out for sure that’s what was halfway buried alongside a trail nearby:)The puppy looks very bright–I guess she’s forgiven you! 😉

RYN: Actually, it’s free………. As is the coffee…… Think about Floyd’s Barbershop in Mayberry…… 🙂
