Thorns

Once someone told me
A story about small desert birds
Throwing themselves
In thorns when copulating in lust

And while embraced by death
They sing so finer than ever
And while embraced by death
They stay in love forever

Like martyrs do
They dedicate their lifes in vain
For ancient vows
And die of flaring ardour in haze

Thorns, they lurk on the roses stem
They do intend to harm them

Squeezing me hard,
The thorns that burn like a fire inside
Thrilling in my head
Until they rip my shivering skin

Thorns, they lurk on rosiest stem
They do intend to harm them
They lurk on the bodies stem
They make my heart arise

Tonight you sleep in hell
