Crying of a Sick Mind (Summer’s Day)
A Summer’s Day
I dont want to make love to you,
I want much more than that
I want to take you in me
to make you part of me
to feel you grow in me
to hold you deep within
I want to taste and drink you
I want my tongue to find your secrets
I want my ears to be filled with your breath
and the sound of your inner song
I dont want to gaze at you
I want to touch and know you
to memorize your smile
to recall it when youre gone
I want to see the soft look on your face as you sleep
and run a finger down your cheek
then watch as you turn
and stretch
and reach for me
and I want to slide into your warm arms
and feel the heat of your smile
and hear the thunder of your heart
I want my hands to seek you
to find you, hard and precious
waiting for caresses and pushing close to me
your warm lips will explore
down my neck
to the pale of my breast
and as doves fly into the pale blue sky
Ill watch the summers clouds float over us
and lift my body to receive your gift
hold you close, pull you to me
wrap myself around you,
clinging to you, as to life
hair spread across the blanket
look into your eyes
and know were fused forever
in this rare moment of love
Actually, this is property of my publisher who bought the limited rights on it, but I don’t think they’d mind me putting it in here… especially if I gave them a plug. Email me if you’re curious.
Of all my love poems, this is a favorite and it’s fairly recent. I wrote it mostly for my husband, but also for the feeling you have when you fall in love with someone and how much more you want than just sex.
When I first wrote it, I put it into a Power Point presentation and it was so much more beautiful in multi-media. *sigh*
