Cleaning Day
Today, my wife is heading to the school to volunteer. She’s always so involved in the kids’ education. Last night, we discussed the idea of moving since it feels like our government prioritizes being ‘right’ over actually helping the people here in New Mexico. But putting that aside, I’m in a cleaning frenzy right now—sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping the kitchen and living room. My ADHD is in full swing, which honestly makes staying sober so much easier. With Halloween just around the corner, I’m getting excited about activities with the kids. Our Game Pass subscription ended a couple of days ago, so I can’t play Minecraft with my son, which has really bummed him out. He can still play on his own, but he loves gaming with Dad. 😔 Managing playtime can be tricky with ADHD and Autism, especially when they want to stick to one activity and find it hard to move on. I’m really grateful that my kids have access to experiences I didn’t have growing up. It’s eye-opening to learn about things that can be passed down genetically. Plus, times have changed—years ago, we didn’t have the same understanding of these conditions that we do now, so it’s not all guesswork anymore.
