see how i’m doing

back on dec 30th or so of last year i wrote out the following goals.  i didn’t call them resolutions, but i guess maybe they were.  lets see how i’ve done thus far, shall we?

pray more constantly working on this, doing pretty well.

— get into the Word at least three times a week. — did real well for awhile, but i’ve fallen off a bit.

rededicate myself to contributing at LEAST 25 dollars a week to the church with an eventual goal of tithing.  (i did pretty well with this this  year until the summer time, then it all fell apart, not sure why).   a few fits and starts, but i’m doing pretty well here.

— stop taking money from my savings account (which at present is nonexistent) to pay bills or cover a silly purchase. — yea, right.  worse now then ever.

— pay off jcpenny and ayres by feb (march at the latest).– nope, not yet

— pay off capitalone card and just use that one as my "everyday" card.– ditto

–cut up and cancel bankofamerica card.  pay it down.  (same with my att universal).– cut them up haven’t cancelled them, yet.  not sure why… well, actually heres why: i can’t pay them online if i cancel them,

–take tax refund put it in to a 6 month cd.  make the initial cd @ least 500 dollars.  i’ll probably have to add money to my tax refund to do this.  when it matures open another one try and make that one at least 1,000 dollars.  —i got my tax refund, but it wasn’t enough to put into cd form.  i put the refund into a new savings account, but believe it or not i raped that account two months ago and there is nothing it now.

pay off car.  (that should happen sometime in the summer… may or june, i think).   sent last payment today!

— after paying off my car take @ least 200 dollars a month and put it in a special car-account savings account with the intention of using it for a new car when the time comes.

— take a real vacation.  texas, maybe…?

— enter some poetry contests and submit work to lit mags.

get into grad school

— stay healthy– on going

— eat better– aigh, could be better.  could be a whole lot worse.

— lose weight– not yet

— go to the dentist– hell no!

get my eyes checked.

ryn: I’m eventually going back to Iowa, but first it’s Norway for 3 weeks. Then boring insurance work all summer. I’m impressed with how much you’ve gotten done. It’s hard to finish things like that. Especially when you’re so busy with work/school.

well geez-o youre farther along than i ever would have been had i made such resolutions

Don’t cancel the cards. The company can then ask to collect in full. Just keep paying as much as possible and don’t use them! Congrats on paying off the car!

I hate that about credit card companies. I don’t blame you for not canceling if you can’t pay online. A real vacation, eh? My new favorite magazine is “Budget Travel.” It’s put out by Frommers. Have you read it? Pick up a copy or read it in the break room. They have really good “off the beaten path” vacation ideas. I’ve been in sunny Indy all week. Good weather you have there!

ryn: YEAH! He’s been ‘meowing’ like crazy all night…. The difference is…. When we get home next Saturday… he’ll be so PISSED that we had left him for a week, he’ll give me the silent treatment for 2 days!! HAHA

I don’t make resolutions or ‘to do’ lists at New Years…. I never follow through! HAHA
