Nifty sorts of stuff *proof added*
My personal Starbucks, and where you will be expected to come meet me if coming to this city
as it is right in the building where I work, bless its delicious self
And now, that thing exploding all over OD Land at the moment (okay, so it’s not exploding, but some of my favorite favorites are doing it): Gemma’s Survey. That’s Gemma the Wonderful Diarist, not Gemma the Purrfect Cat. I think it is really lovely of her to come up with this just when I was wondering what on Earth I could possibly put in this place. My answers are very boring because it’s hard to have supernatural experiences when trying to eke out enough space to stand and walk, but oh well; it’s a nifty survey, and I thank her for coming up with it.
Do you believe in life after death?
Yes, although I don’t have any firm idea on how it is experienced.
Do you believe that ghosts haunt people or places?
Absolutely.
Have you seen a ghost?
I saw a whole group of them once.
If yes to the above, were you drinking or using drugs at the time or had you been diagnosed with a psychotic illness?
I fear I was under the influence of marijuana at the time; I was in college, and walking toward Nassau Boulevard and the final destination of a diner to deal with the other effects of the stuff. Umm … my companion on this trek saw the same ghosts; of course, she too was under the same influence, so …
Are you superstitious?
No.
If yes, what are you superstitious about?
Are you afraid of the dark?
No, I rather love it sometimes in fact.
Are you afraid to be alone?
No, I love times of solitude; sometimes I think almost too much.
Do you believe in extraterrestrials?
Yes, as I believe that it is ridiculous to think that Earth is the only place in the universe where intelligent life would spring up.
Have you seen a UFO?
Not yet.
If yes to the above, were you drinking or using drugs at the time or had you been diagnosed with a psychotic illness?
Do you believe in astrology?
To a degree.
What is your astrological sign?
Leo with Virgo rising.
Have you ever had your astrological chart done?
Yes.
If yes to the above, do you feel it was fairly accurate?
It seemed to be mostly accurate.
Have you had your fortune read?
Yes.
If yes to the above, what method did the fortune teller use? Cards, palm reading, runes, scrying?
Palm reading.
Do you believe you can heal yourself with your mind?
Yes. That is, I think that my attitude has a great deal to do with my state of wellness.
Have you been to a seance?
Not past the age of 12.
Do you like scary movies?
Once in a while.
Are you afraid of spiders or snakes?
Not afraid, no; in fact, I rather like most spiders I have met. I feel great respect for snakes, and therefore do keep a certain distance most of the time ….
Do you think that snakes are evil?
No, they are just living their snake lives.
Do you believe in the Devil? Evil spirits?
I believe that evil exists, but not in the form of some entity like “the Devil”; rather, it exists in unexamined unwellness allowed to run rampant and harm humans.
Do you believe in angels?
Yes, I have been blessed with some in my life, although they have come to me as fellow human beans.
If you believe in God, do you believe God is All or only All Good?
I believe in God and that God is All Good; however, I do not know more about this than that God exists and that I am not God. This knowledge, as long as I remember it, keeps me alive.
Do you believe in telepathy?
Yes.
Are you able to see peoples’ auras?
No, although I think it must be lovely to be able to see them.
Do you believe that negative energy can remain in a location long after a bad event has taken place?
Absolutely.
Do you believe in possession?
Yes, I believe that a person can be possessed by evil.
If yes to the above, do you believe it can be dispelled or overcome by religious rite?
I do, because for people who are deeply involved in a certain belief system it would seem the only way to help them rid themselves of what is a horrible condition.
Do you believe that people can be utterly evil without hope for redemption?
I believe that every person is redeemable. I know not every person wants to be redeemed; nor would they be willing to go through the “fire” … do the rather hard introspective work and outward mending necessary.
Have you used a Ouija board?
Yes.
If yes, did you get an intelligible message?
Yes, although of course I could never decide if it was real or just subtle movements of the hands on the dealiebob.
Have you had a dream that came true?
Yes.
Would you rather be buried or cremated?
Cremated, as I don’t think this planet has enough space for many more human remains.
Do cemetaries creep you out?
Not at all; I think they are beautiful and peaceful places.
Have you ever had a premonition that came true?
Yes.
Have you ever heard disembodied voices?
Actually, yes.
If yes to the above, were you drinking or using drugs at the time or had you been diagnosed with a psychotic illness?
Surprisingly, no.
Are you the original occupant of your home?
Are you kidding? Sorry … umm, no.
If no, have you ever felt the presence of something/someone else in your home when you were alone?
No I haven’t.
Do you believe that people who practice witchcraft are generally evil?
No, I believe there are many Wiccans who are deeply spiritual and very good people.
Do you believe in Hell?
Not as a place with fires burning eternally to which one goes after death, but as an experience fully available in the process of living a life, absolutely.
Do you have a favorite number?
Not really.
If so, what is it and why?
If you are familiar with Tarot, which Major Arcana character do you most identify with?
Okay, I am slightly familiar with Tarot although not deeply; of the characters I have come across, it seems that I identify most with The Fool.
Because being The Fool is fine by me, even though I promise to remember I am not God, in spite of one of the below statements:
You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins
the journey into the unknown. To do this, he
does not regard the world he knows as firm and
fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard
for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is
seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the
sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In
order to explore and expand, one must disregard
convention and conformity. Those in the throes
of convention look at the unconventional,
non-conformist personality and think What a
fool. They lack the point of view to understand
The Fool’s actions. But The Fool has roots in
tradition as one who is closest to the spirit
world. In many tribal cultures, those born with
strangeand unusual character traits were held
in awe. Shamans were people who could see
visions and go on journeys that we now label
hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with
physical differences had experience and
knowledge that the average person could not
understand. The Fool is God. The number of the
card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect
circle. This circle represents both emptiness
and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by
mountains and valleys or by his physical body.
He does not accept the appearance of cliff and
air as being distinct or real. Image from: Mary

Which Tarot Card Are You?

I love cemeteries; they seem quite peaceful to me, and are usually full of lovely trees, and scattered with flowers. Nothing there to fear at all. (Just read this survey in FD’s diary…very fetching quiz)..Warm hugs

I agree with Gab up there and look forward to many life pictures from your new camera. There will be a number of trips to the big city preparing for new bionic parts – hopefully one will take me to your part of town. Cool survey.

So glad you got a camera. No Starbucks please. Too harsh and bitter for me. But I’ll come and see you anyway. Loved this and just finished it myself. Look what Gemma started.

Oh, I enjoyed reading your survey. I’ve seen this around, not quite motivated myself to do it. Singularly, I do not believe we are God, but connectively I think we ‘make up’ God. Each and every atom, cell, spark collectively creates the Being of God. me thinks.

oh, and I forgot…sadly, I’m a Starbucks addict myself, meet you there, oh say, around 2PM for a late day pick-me-up?
