American Idol: 8 Girls

Jordin — Heartbreaker — It’s not one of my favorite songs, but I think she did a good job, except for a few off notes.  Lots of energy.  I went back to listen again, and yes, just a couple bad notes. 
 
Sabrina — Don’t Let Go — You know, I like this girl, even though I forget about her all the time — not a good thing.  Parts of her performance I liked, and parts wandered off-key.  Not her best. 
 
Antonella — Put Your Records On — Absolutely, positively HATED it!  HATED IT!!!  I LOVE this song, in fact, Corrine Bailey Rae is one of my new favorite artists.  She butchered this song.  GO HOME!!!!!
 
Haley — If My Heart Had Wings — Not in the least bit interesting.  She’s certainly better than Antonella, but then so is Miko.  (For those that don’t know, Miko is my eldest dog.)
 
Stephanie — Sweet Thing — Nice start.  Soujnds like her voice is giving out a little.  I really like her voice — shouldn’t have picked a song with that really low register, didn’t sound so good then. But I thought it was a good performance.  She needs to take care of her voice though. 
 
LaKisha — I Have Nothing — Great performance.  Everything will be anti-climatic after I Am Telling You, but this girl can sing Whitney. She does it for me.  Everything about her.  She was born with the "It" factor.  Everything about her matches the songs she chooses and that’s rare.  Her facial movements, her body, her voice.  Everything.  Although I think she sang it in the rhythm and tone of Whitney, I heard Lakisha and not Whitney when she sang it.  
 
Gina — Call Me When You’re Sober — She rocked — I like this girl.  Tiny bit pitchy, but it was a good passionate performance.  Not Evanescence good, but good nonetheless.  She should certainly outlast all the boys.  Perfect song for her.  Perfect.  I really like her vibe.  Hope she goes far!
 
Melinda — I’m a Woman — The performance of the night, and a good night at that.  Good for her.  I kind of think this all might come down to Melinda v. LaKisha.  I had a hard time choosing which I liked better this week, Melinda or Lakisha.  I do love Melinda’s humbleness.  She’s refreshing!  I also really loved Simon’s comments.  Calling her a Tiger and saying, "we’ve got a pussycat here" and "I quite like it". 
 
Ok, surely Antonella and Haley will be gone tomorrow . . .  surely.  Although there’s a possibility that Sabrina could go.  Then they have a very solid 6 girls.  PLEASE GOD!  PLEASE let Antonella go – please deaden the phones of horny boys everywhere.  Yes she’s gorgeous, yes she has a great body (which now the whole world has seen) but she is not on par with the others.  See ya!!!  I’m also really upset she got to stay when Frenchie got booted.  Not right.
 
What a welcome change from last night’s 1 hour bomb.
