American Idol: Hollywood & Final 24
Tuesday:
Well, granted the first group didn’t seem so great, but they all went home? I guess that’s right, but whew, that’s a harsh way to start.
The Columbian girl doesn’t have much of a voice, but she’s fun. I don’t think she can get much better though. I think she missed the point — he didn’t say get rid of the personality, he said make the talent match it.
Baylie was a little wobbly voiced, but I like her. I like her tone.
It’s pretty frustrating that they didn’t let us hear them all.
Uh oh, there went Perla.
The Beat Box Boys sounded pretty good.
Robin Troup, who sang with Sundance, is the girl who wound up getting picked to sing with Justin Timberlake on the Grammys. Oh, and they just sent her home.
Sundance sounded awful — the key was way too high for him.
Wow, Baylie bit the dust — I am soooo surprised. I expected her to go a long long way.
Interesting start. No one stands out to me now.
Wednesday:
Not impressed with Sanjaya. I hope he can do better.
I kind of liked Melinda, the backup singer.
Brendan, the other backup singer — I liked him. I’m looking forward to hearing more from him. He kind of looks like Justin Guarini.
Gina I’m not sure about yet.
Haylie just didn’t impress me at all.
Phil I really liked the guy with the khaki hat who missed his baby’s birth.
Chris, the big guy, will be interesting to watch to see how he progresses, how they give him a makeover. He’s one to watch.
Blake, the beat box boy — I don’t remember what he sounds like. I guess we’ll have to wait until next week.
Rudy has a great voice. Another one to watch.
You can just about feel the pressure these kids are under, sitting there waiting.
Paul Kim — he sure sounded iffy with the group. But he ended the song well — I wasn’t sure there for a minute.
Jordan was not so impressive.
AJ — I’m on the fence about him.
Stephanie — I liked her.
Leslie Hunt — the blonde girl — I haven’t a clue why they let her through.
Nick was ok, not great but fine.
Elena, singing Without You, just wasn’t very good. I have no clue why they put her through — no clue at all.
Chris, with the short hair — pretty nasal.
Sabrina has a good voice.
Lakisha — they had no choice but to let her through, very interesting.
Nicole sounded pretty good.
Jared sounded good — I’m a sucker for a Sam Cook song.
Amy — I think the guys are stronger this season.
I’m really surprised they let Antonella through and sent Marisa home.
Not sure why they put Sundance through since he has been sucking and Tommy sounded better during Hollywood week. Strange.
Ok, that’s it – starts next week. That’s when the fun begins.
