THREEEE

Day 22 :: A website

Oh boy. I visit way too many of them, lately….because of scrapbooking research. (THREE DAYS TIL CRICUT!)  So, I think I’ll pick one of those. I probably haven’t mentioned this one yet:

sooo, yesterday i didn’t get as accomplished as i would have liked.
i DID take luke to see santa.
i DID wrap every present i could (two of them aren’t finished, and matt’s buying two more).
but i didn’t do laundry or clean our rooms. we ran out of time!

the santa visit, was freaking awesome.
matt was dreading it, mostly because he thought there was going to be this outrageously horrible line, but it was the exact opposite. they were a well-oiled machine! there was NO line at all….only one person ahead of us and they were already being taken care of. it gave us the perfect amount of time to pick the picture package we wanted. so it was our turn, i walked up to santa and he greeted luke. i handed him over a few seconds later, and luke immediately started playing with his beard. in fact, he got his hand stuck in it lol…only my boy. then he realized i wasn’t standing next to him anymore so he looked around anxiously til he spotted me, and he did, standing behind the camera. which is how this happened:

after he saw me still standing there, he looked back at santa and said "ho ho ho". i don’t really think he realized that what he was doing was insanely appropriate?  but we’ve been getting him to say that all week and he does it, hilariously. so i think he was just showing this nice strange man his new trick. there was a hilarious picture of him looking up at santa saying it….if we could have ordered 2 pictures i would have gotten it. anyway, when santa responded to luke’s ho ho ho’s, it scared the crap out of luke….aaand he burst into tears. he then turned his head so that even though santa was still holding him they couldn’t make eye contact, it was pretty funny actually. so i scooped him up, and while i picked our package matt paid. we had to stand there for maybe 30 seconds before they handed over our pictures, and by then luke was recovered from crying and was absolutely enthralled in the talking christmas tree. it was one of the fastest mall experiences ever!

since it was so quick and painless we decided to walk down the mall a bit and get some coffee, and then we left for the rest of our stops. the traffic was so bad that we didn’t get home til 6, which is luke’s dinner time. so i fed him, and he was in bed by 7 since he hadn’t napped since 3. and then, the sabres game was on and i had presents to wrap. so, yeah….busy day!

i’m on load #2 of laundry (and have about 2-3 more to do). it’s going to be an ordeal with little man today. there aren’t many dishes, thankfully, so i guess i’ll just straighten things up a bit downstairs & then concentrate on our rooms. apparently my grandma is coming over to help scrub things (and my mom is getting out of work early) so i want us to be at a good starting point without luke’s toys everywhere and stuff like that. i think i’ll load a few of his favorites into his pack and play and put the rest in the basement until…..well, i was going to say until christmas is over, but maybe never. he’s about to get so many new ones, it may be time to retire some of the old!

i’m being ALL kinds of nerdly about this week because i’m so freaking excited for luke’s sake. however, he would probably cruise around in a potato sack and not care buuut instead he’s getting christmas outfits daily 🙂  today is tacky holiday sweater day. tomorrow is his "ho ho ho" outfit (i already have a gay caption to go with it, stay tuned on facebook 🙂 ), thursday is his christmas outfit (pictured above with santa), christmas eve night & christmas morning is his christmas jammies, then after his first nap on christmas day is his "my first christmas" outfit. i just washed everything in load #1 to make sure it’s all ready to go. don’t judge me 🙂

ummmmm it’s cold in here. it snowed again this morning and it wasn’t supposed to so maaaybe mother nature will wise up about her stupid rain for christmas idea. who knows with buffalo, though!

ooh! luke signed "no more" yesterday. which, is interesting, because he knows the sign for all done? but, he was saying more and shaking his head no at the same time when he lost interest in his cheerios. i tried to give him another just to make sure he wasn’t saying more and just happened to be shaking his head, but sure enough he refused it and then said no more again. i’m kind of floored by this! i don’t know why he chose to say it over all done?? but not only did he put another "sentence" together, he understands "no" on two levels. what it means, and that shaking his head says no. i’m so in awe of that baby 🙂

speaking of….he’s doing his "mommy come get me" squealing upstairs which means we’re a few minutes away from meltdown mode. time to get busy!
