(Thanksgiving is on Thursday, but the Housing Authority has a holiday dinner for residents on Tuesday)

(13th time I’ll be eating that meal here)

Supposedly. Housing was going to provide all the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner. That did not happen – two, three small boxes of stuffing for 80 people? Whole potatoes, unpeeled and uncooked?

Hmmm.

The women making the dinner will be working all night and tomorrow with scant supplies. My next door neighbor asked me to give her a ride to the store if no one else will, just as I got back from the store. Ok, I said, but let me put away this frozen stuff. 45 minutes later, she came to me and said, "no one else will take me – can you?"

(well, I’m going to be eating and how could I do that if I said "no"?)

So what if I miss half of "Hawaii five O"? I can watch it online if I really want to.

It always surprises me how much my little car can hold. I go up to the grocery store nearby and I pretty much always buy the same things – Marie Calendar pot pies and milk and butter – I "never" look around at all the other things in the store, but tonight, well, I was just the driver and had time to look at things I never do.  She used my "member’s card" at the store.

And I can eat with a clear conscience tomorrow.

My neighbor said "no one will know how how much you helped our Thanksgiving!"

I don’t need no recognition, I just wanna eat.

Besides, I got all those points on my QFC (grocery store) card, and that will mean a ten cent discount on gas for my car, she bought so much stuff.

Is it Thanksgiving tomorrow? I’ve no idea…We don’t do Thanksgiving in Oz. G~

It was very nice of you to help out with the dinner, especially the way you were eventually treated.
