Brakes
I’ve sung praises for my willing beast, my Voyager minivan.
Remind me of that, willya?
Turns out the driver’s side front brake is toast, that one of the boots on the cv joint on that side is bad, and that both wheel cylinders are bad on the back.
Hundreds of dollars are necessary to restore my brakes to working order.
It’s gonna be a Ramen week.
Cuz, ya know, it has to be done.
I will have to talk to my apt. manager about the late rent next week.
If I don’t drive, I don’t get paid, and if I don’t get paid, they won’t get any rent. Whadda I do, quit my job?
Nope, the van is getting repaired now. Gotta go catch a bus back to the place that’s working on it and hope hope hope I have enough credit with them to not spend every dime I have to my name.

i quit smoking a year ago…… it sucked. i still don’t smoke so far…. all of that is so i can say that you are saving a lot of money by not smoking….. and i’m sorry about the big hundreds you have to spend on those cv joints. they are expensive.

Perhaps your boss could advance the funds for your vehicle repairs or the rent? He needs you working too and if I remember correctly, he sold you the vehicle in the first place. I’m impressed…you’re still not smoking.

OH pisswah, what a hassle! Nope, NOT the best time to succeed at quitting smoking, m’friend. Sorry to hear of the troubles you are having. Believe me, I am very familiar with the “Ramen” diet–been there and done that many a time myself. I SO hope things get better for ya!

Ohhhh dear! Son is in a similar situation, though thankfully doesn’t need his vehicle for work. Had to borrow one to visit the old folks though.
