BUSY week
That Sporting Goods manufacter has 8 buses a day – 16, really, going and froming to event venues this week. Tuesday is usually my day off, but "we’re slammed" and they need me to work. Given what the last pay check looked like, I need to work too.
Last night, I took a bus load of people from the headquarters (and company store) back to their hotel downtown, and then had two hours to kill before I started my "take-home" run for that Private school we serve. One of the kids lived way out in Gresham; another was down in SE Portland, so I didn’t finish until after midnight. All the kids were home by 11:30; it just took awhile to get back to the yard and to park my bus.
Today, we 8 will be picking them up at HQ again, going downtown to the hotel, waiting for them, and then taking them to an event in The Pearl District, waiting again, and taking them to the hotel – 7 or 8 hours at least, this afternoon/evening/tonight. At least there’s some nap time involved.
Feasting time, I guess. Payday’s on Friday, I think, because Sunday is the 20th, so I fully expect this check to be significantly larger than the last one.
Sigh. Work, come home, care for my cat, eat, sleep, and… work again. It’s a life, I guess, but I do kind of miss those days when I had less to do.
Speaking of which, I’ve got to go out and do some shopping – I’m almost out of coffee, so this is short. Eat lunch, go run around, and go back to work.
A busy week.
