First Christmas card of 2010

My former wife sent me the first Christmas card of 2010.

Even better is the 500 dollar traveler’s check in the card.  Unemployment withered on the vine, I guess, cuz there hasn’t been any for two weeks.  I applied for food stamps (now called SNAP to protect the ignorant) the day after I got fired, and they gave me a debit card – which has NO MONEY on it – totally fucking useless.

(You spell that B-R-O-K-E)

It’s a good thing this last week was Thanksgiving – I came home with leftovers that have fed me since Thursday.  It’s a good thing too that breakfast in the building is available AT COST three days a week – that’s at least three meals I can scrounge up.  (2.25 for three eggs, potatoes, bacon, juice, and coffee.  A DEAL)

I applied at one of the convenience stores I used to service with the papers for a job… with a kid who’s now ast. manager whom I’ve known for years now.  I think I’ll be working midnight to 6 pretty soon.

I hope.

Those three nights to start will EQUAL or exceed the newspaper pay.  I mean, what wouldn’t?  The paper was paying 80% of minimum wage – shit, in other words.  ANY job I get now will pay better than that piece of shit job did.

Ah, but I’m getting away from my happiness – the first Christmas card of the year, and from someone I care about very much.

Even better: someone who cares about me.
