It had to happen….
Nowadays, I hang out with hundreds of school kids.
Sooner or later, it had to happen. I can’t say I’m sick as a dog, but I am, sorta. Yesterday it was chills and a slight fever and I’ve been through a roll of tp already (not kleenex – tissue paper’s the same, and I haven’t spent the extra $ for boxes of tissue)
I text messaged the boss last night ( I figured he’d prolly be sleeping, since he does the Sunday deliveries now, with the other guy). Basically, I said I’m taking tonight, Sunday night/Monday morning off. I have state required classes this week at the bus barn, but sitting in the middle school library is MUCH easier than driving a cold stepvan around.
It’s cold because I leave one or both doors open. Exhaust fills the fucker up, and the last time I kept the doors closed, I was overcome by the fumes and broke my foot trying to get out at one of the stops. I am so looking forward to bagging this job. I wanna keep the Sunday deliveries, mostly because that’s $110 a week, whereas the bus job pays once a month, and not quite as much as the paper deliveries with the expenses thrown in. I’d totally bag the papers if I could sfford to.
Heh, speaking of expenses, the money pit, I mean my Plymouth Voyager POS, is making "throw more money at me" indications again. The "check engine" light comes on and the voltage meter drops then comes back, and the tranny shifts when it fucking feels like it (ok, maybe not quite that bad, but I’m pissed at the fucker)
That van has soaked up EVERY spare bit of money I had and could borrow and it still is being a needy bitch. Fuck it, I’m done wasting money on it. The paper routes killed it. And, its a Chrysler piece of shit. The reason they cost less new is cuz they use second class parts, and they wear out. Things turning into a Volvo, and that’s a bad thing. I wasted Thousands on three Volvos and generated much discord between me and the wife.
Got no wife now, so Blacky Cat gets all the shit, and that sucks.
But, I have this other job I need to get to… I need a vehicle, so I will flog the POS until it dies and save as much as I can and hope for the best. It sucks royally to be so fucking poor. Got no savings, live paycheck to paycheck, and need $ to work.
Something no politician scum knows anything about. Fuck ’em all. No load dickheads.

Oh oh. Time to go.

I swear if you could buy an old ragged out Toytoa….you’d get good service out of it.

Hang in there. I’d get rid of that vehicle you drive. Its gonna keep soaking up money. Maybe it would suffice as down payment on another one.

I know how it is when you’re poor and have car troubles. I figured out a few years ago that for what we were paying, constantly getting something on our van fixed, we could afford an inexpensive, bare-bones new car and the insurance. You think that would be an option? And, I hope you feel better soon.

Is there any industry around there where you could get a job that would pay big bucks? That’s what we do up here, gas and oil, trees, etc., but the money is there. Just an idea. Everyone up here is getting sick too, I’m going to avoid everyone for a while, just kidding! But I don’t want to get sick.

Cats seem to be good at listening to all that kind of stuff and yet not taking it on themselves. I think they can teach us a thing or two about getting rid of the negativity. 🙂 How’ve you been, Cat? I’ve missed ya.

“It’s me back witht he same message, “Ask and you will receive.” Ask and you will receive.” If you need a new truck, or van or car, just ask, and wait patiently for the answer, never failing to keep faith, and keep believing….then your prayer will be answered!Try it and see how magnificent and astounding God is!

it’s really tough to be in this position, exhausting and draining when money worries come along. I hope you find an easy, working car. I’d recommend toyotas. you can run them into the ground and they keep running.

I will pray for your van. This reminds me of the time I vented on C-Span about some needless government spending and told them they can stick to their budget just like the rest of America and then this guy calls in and says No Shit I agree with the woman caller before me, If me or my wife missed one paycheck, just one we would be screwed. The host was shocked I think.
