it was really 106

it made it past 105 today here, but I drove out to the coast… where the lowest temp I saw was 88.  It’s hot all over.  Tonight it was 91 at 9:15 pm… and two hours later was just 88 – three degrees in two hours.  They say it’ll be 70 at 7, and they figure it’ll be AT LEAST 107 tomorrow.  That’s the record for the date… and the weather guy looked alonst happy when he said there’s a good chance we’d set a new record.

107 tomorrow, they say, and 105 Thursday, and 90’s through the weekend.

I guess summer is here.

Drove 230 miles this afternoon – I didn’t get out of pdx until like 2, and never really saw the coast – 26 runs into 101 inland, and although I guess maybe I caught a glimpse of the sea, the ^$%*$) traffic was such that I had to pay attention to that.  Got about 47 pics though, mostly from places I stopped in the forest.  The Caliber is a smooth cruiser, and Spa Jazz on satellite radio is smooth jazz at it’s smooothest – makes for good cruising music.  Got a lot of use out of the cruise control – I wanted it bad in the blue Caliber I had last summer – now I’ve got it in the black one, and use it whenever I can.  It makes it a really effortless car to drive – I Iike that.

In point of fact, this is the second summer in a row that I have had a brand new car to drive.  It’s pretty cool how that worked out.

I’ve got the fan on medium, swinging through an arc that covers the studio apartment and the balcony door, and it is ….

89 degrees in here.

by the way, do not shave your animals, no matter how hot it gets- they’re designed to have that fur coat, and you’ll screw things up for the animal.  Give ’em a cool place to hang out yes, but shaving them?  NO.

I am soo glad I don’t have to work tomorrow – I can sweat in peace.
