I went to the grocery store and bought my first SNAP food – food stamps, that finally began today. I came home and microwaved that beef pot pie from Marie Calendar’s (mmmm) and laid down to nap. Been doing that a lot lately.
Unemployment called and woke me up – "talked to your boss and wanted to get your response".
No, I did not assault a 71 year old man.
No, I did not threaten to "fuck up" the boss.
No, I did not argue with and insult my fellow Sunday driver.
("Boy, that guy is trying to burn me down", I said)

It was actually not a very long call.
"Thank you. I’m going to close this case. You’ll be getting a check in a couple of days".
Oh, let me hold my breath!

The next job I get, I will not get at all close to the boss. Boss is looking like an anagram for "liar".

there have been almost 260 hits on my diary today. Way more than usual. Good thing, maybe, I haven’t told any lies here.

Believe it when you see it with regards to unemployment. There is always the possibility of an appeal which could delay it even longer. Hopefully, it will be done and you will get your money with backpay…and quickly! But, just to be on the safe side…don’t depend on it until you actually see the money in the bank. I’ve been in HR way too many years and have been on unemployment for over a year, myself. I know how frustrating it can be.
