Maybe

Maybe I will get a laptop.  They aren’t tremendously expensive and the bank just upped my credit limit on the Visa card.  Hell, at one point today, in the middle of waiting for updates to download, the bank called and tried to sell me on refinancing my car loan.

I’d be totally interested in a lower finance charge, but as I said to the guy on the phone when he asked about my job – do I still work at the bus company – "the conversation’s is going to end here because I don’t have a job at the moment".

("Oh, how long has it been?  Since December?  Oh.")

Well, it was a nice fantasy break while I was waiting for the machine to update itself.  My copy of Windows XP Home is pretty old, I guess, or XP was so buggy they had to issue a couple hundred updates….

I’ve heard good things about Windows 7, and a decent laptop would be a nice thing to have – take it anywhere.  WiFi is pretty widespread these days – hell, I could go hang out in McDonalds or something.

THAT would get me out of the apartment.  Maybe I’ve been depressed and have been isolating.

Well, I have, no maybe about it.

At least I got this computer working.  Heh.

Maybe I’m feeling sorta smart about that, anyway.
