No good deed… (an hour later)
No good deed goes unpunished.
They told me last night that there wouldn’t have been a good Thanksgiving dinner without me, that since I had given the cook a ride to get more food, that it would be a good Thanksgiving.
They did not save me a spot; there was no where to sit, and the bitch next door threw me out of the seat I grabbed – "Those seats are reserved for the staff. You can’t sit there". There were no empty seats, and the dinner was an hour and a half late.
Fuck you bitch, without me you’d be eating dog food.
(my other neighbor, to be clear, not the one I helped last night. Still, fuck you people)

I was not rude to anyone, but my cat would have hid when I got home and bitched out loud about it.
The doorbell just rang, and the woman who threw me out apologized.
I am a two faced bastard, I might as well be the first to say it, and I’ll tell you what I mean:
Japanese does not have swear words like English. You can be rude by not speaking in the proper form – Japanese is very hierarchical; you speak "up" or "down" to people above and below you, or as an equal to your friends, but the way to be extremely insulting in Japanese is to be VERY POLITE. It puts people "in their places" immediately and while you are not insulting or profane, everyone knows you are insulting the other person, with decorum and "nice" words.
I am not rude, out loud, in public, most of the time, and those who do not know me well might well think I’m polite in these situations, but I know, and you would too, if your knew me well, that my smile and nice words hide an unsheathed stiletto.
I may have memory issues, but I do not forget some things.

That really sucks. 🙁 I’m sorry it didn’t work out better.

oh man, sorry you were treated so harshly. I once had a SIL tell me there was no place setting for me at Thanksgiving. She made my brother tell me. She is gone now but not till after years of abusing him and the family

I’m glad she apologized, at least. I wish people would be more forgiving around this holiday in particular, though.

Wow! How rude! At least she apologized later. But, still… that’s just not right.
