On my way home

This was/is a fast trip.  I got here to Big Bear on Tuesday, and will leave here in a few hours to drive back to PDX.

It’s a bit over a thousand miles to Big Bear from Portland, so I plan to get home late tomorrow night.

I’m glad I came.  The car ran well, and I haven’t yet needed the cable chains I bought.  It’s been below freezing at night here, but gets into the high 40’s during the days.  There is still lots of snow around; our driveway is not to overly packed with snow, and my car has pretty much sat since Tuesday night.  Jhni’s been using the 4×4 Dodge one of her bosses lent her.  Her Dart isn’t quite buried in snow, but it’s resting during this cold season.

It took about 29 hours, door to door to get here – it should take about the same to get home.  That’ll give me time to think it out.

I saw my brother for the first time since 1988. Wow.  I saw my cousin and her mom for the first time since 1984.  It’s very good to be reconnected – life was getting lonely.  There are outlines for a visit in July or August.  Things to think about and roadtrips to consider.

Onwards.  Upwards too.

This Mozilla/Firefox browser she uses is kind of flaky writing here.

You got to see your brother again. That is fantastic! You have probably have only known each other as brothers and even still have that unseen connection with each other.Growing up together you’d still feel as though he was family wouldn’t you? Hope and pray you travel safely and get home to Portland okay without any hassles!love,
