That was a squeaker

I can make the car payment!

Yay! Fireworks. Balloons. Sailors kissing girls in the streets.

I can write that check and not worry if it will clear.

***

I haven’t heard from Mentor in over a week, but the most current pay check just got deposited in my banks, and it’s all good.

I haven’t had any work with Mentor this week, and no word at all on next week, and I’m not panicking.

Why not? you say?

Well, because I spoke up, not to Mentor, but to my other job.

Well, I spoke up to my VocRehab counselor, who spoke to my Job Developer. who spoke to my second job, who spoke to me.

The result?

2 days of mandatory training, yesterday and today, and multiple conversations with SEVERAL Group Home managers,

AND

32 hours of scheduled work, in 2 group homes, with the almost definite lure of 40 hours of regularly scheduled work.

Sounds very good. My car, from 2006, does not sound wonderful, and I’m afraid I’m about to have one of those $3,000 repair bills.

Once you get into the group homes, you will be able to work 24/7/365 if you want. There is always a shortage somewhere.

Woot!
