The other shoe drops

Unemployment just called.  The other Daily driver claims I assaulted him and punched him.

Sheesh. I held the old man off when he tried to assault ME.

(I called him very name in the book, yeah, but names are not a reason to hit someone)

I don’t think this is going to end well.

The former boss is telling lies, and I think they’ll believe him over me.

oh, dear! take care,

*Puts head in hands*

Unless there is proof of the assault (i.e. a police compliant), I don’t think Unemployment can deny you. I’d go down to the police station and ask to talk to an officer about this to get the whole low down on it (and talking to a cop is free, while a lawyer will bleed you dry…and then some). Light of heart,

^ I agree that this is the best course of action ^ I’m sorry this is happening. …I still think there are good things on the way.

I agree with Manitou Wolf. Hold firm.

Were there no other witnesses to the altercation? I’m sorry you find yourself in this predicament! Can you not speak to your former boss? Is there bad blood between you?

Oh gosh! That is so.. so… SO grossly not fair.

Also- I agree with Manitou Wolf.

It all depends on the judge. Sometimes you get one in favor of the employee and sometimes you get one in favor of the employer. I know they are not supposed to be like that, but from my experience…a lot of them work that way. Hopefully you’ll get a good one. :o)
