Tuesday alternator specific
Well, that took all day.
‘Twas expensive too.
But, the van is so much quieter, it must have been Loud for a long time. It runs a little better, the lights are brighter, and best of all,
that "check engine" light went out.
Got a brand new alternator, a Nippondenso, a high quality Japanese parts manufacturer, with a 2 year guarantee. I’d cringe at the $352 it cost me, but ya know, I can kinda afford it. Kind of.
It runs better. It is much quieter – almost nice to drive.
Well, almost nothing. It is nice to drive. The transmission works just like it should.
Looked at from one angle, I’m bailing on a job that got me a van. I suppose it could be said that I have used this job to bootstrap myself into a better circumstance. Taken advantage of it.
To which I will have to say, "yeah, so?"
You have to take advantage of the cards you’re dealt and play the best hand you can. I haven’t done anything less than honorable.
(that "check engine" light went out!)

I think most of us have worked our way up the ladder that way. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to feel bad about. And the positions we vacate as we move up…. well, they allow someone else to move up, into them. And so it goes.

well yay on getting it fixed. i took my job at the gym taking care of children and got referrals to nanny jobs – it was technically against the rules to work for any members at the gym, and I waited for a year or two before doing so, but it got right down to starving or not. And I had my priorities. I took the job, especially when the gym didnt offer me the extra hours I requested. hah. I’ve done better for myself as a result. I still try to avoid working for any members at the gym, but I’ve had my boss call me and tell me that a family needed me and she got official permission from the head of the gym for me to babysit for them indefinitely. heh. They do trust me, and I earned that. It was definitely good I got that job at the gym, and that I took work that I needed. It’s saved my life.
