water’s rising fast

Johnson Creek by A & J’s house has flooded – I’m watching the noon news now and Foster Road from 102nd to 132nd is flooded as Johnson Creek has overtopped it’s banks.  The snow pack in the Cascades, where Johnson Creek originates, is melting off fast.

My friends A & J’s backyard is the creek – it is just yards from their back door.  I just called them but no one is home – got the answering machine.  If they are not home, they will not be able to get home now.

Counties to the west are flooding out; schools are closing.  No word yet from my school district, and none of my schools is very close to waterways, but it might only be a matter of time before I’m rerouted to avoid flooded areas.

I’m home now, on the eighth floor – no problems for me… yet.  The rains shows no sign of slacking off, and Johnson Creek runs by my building just a few blocks way; we are on high ground, so it’ll be the end of the world before we have problems here.

I wonder if my school bus floats.

Oh my! That must be nerve-wracking! Even if you are in no present danger, it must be a bummer to hear about the flooding in areas very close to you. I’ll bet your bus floats if you tell all the kids to hold their breath and then you tie them to the outside of the bus as a floatation device. Perhaps, perhaps? Be well.

If it does float, how will you steer it? Stay as dry as you can.

It sounds like you are getting a little more than wet!!! It is suppose to be heading down to my area, but it has not done much yet. I would hope that it would wait until after this weekend, I want to go out of town, but I am a chicken of the roads when they are slick!!! Do your best to keep warm and dry. 🙂

floods!! we had some here on friday, saturday not so much.

I was watching about your area and the evacuation notices near you earlier today. Of course I’m going to worry. Stay safe Cat, I hope your friends are high and dry.
