Plan B. The regedit look did not show the problem described.
Since I just did it a few days ago, I won’t really loose anything but time by reformatting the drive again. This time, it’s even planned for, as long as the CD drive works on restart – I’ve got backup.
That will be a good thing in another way – I got new glasses, single vision, and I guess I shoulda gotten the bi-focals.I can barely read the monitor; typing is an adventure.

maybe a pair of cheap reading glasses from walmart or a drugstore? my eye doctor told me to use two different ones… one for reading and one for the computer. still, i’ll be getting some new glasses in the next couple of months. i need the bifocal really bad. in fact, mine are the unlined bifocals with 3 areas of seeing. you get to a certain age and bifocals are a way of life. hope all went wellwith the reformat. take care,
