what song makes you cry?

This song from 1986 makes me cry because it’s HER song:

"Time after time" – Cyndi Lauper

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick

and think of you

caught up in circles confusion-

is nothing new

Flashback – warm nights-

almost left behind

suitcases of memories

Time after –

Sometimes you picture me

I’m walking too far ahead

You’re calling me, I can’t hear

what you’ve said-

then you say – go slow-

I’ll fall behind-

The second hand unwinds

(chorus)

If you’re lost you can look – and you will find me

time after time

if you fall I will catch you – I will be waiting

time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has

turned to grey

Watching through windows – you’re wondering

if I’m ok

Secrets stolen deep inside

the drum beats out time-

(chorus)

You say go slow-

I fall behind

the second hand unwinds

(chorus)

Time after time…

Time after time…

***

techno mix

The most important lines:

if you fall I will catch you – I will be waiting

time after time

***

I’ve fallen a few times and she’s always caught me.  So what if we’re not married anymore.

Time after time

angel by sarah m. gets me everytime. probably though because I connect them to those sad sad animal commercials they force us to watch on tv.

We Will Never Pass This Way Again – Seals and Crofts. No matter if it’s played on a tinny radio or the best sound system in the world, it makes me cry.

that’s a beautiful song. there’s a song that always makes me cry… eric clapton… tears in heaven. it’s about how he felt when his son died and it makes me think of my son. take care,

Deep River Woman, Lionel Richie, makes me think of my dad and plays with my emotions every time.

Placebo’s version of Running Up That Hill does it for me. Gorecki’s 3rd Symphony does it. Jeff Buckley’s rendition of “Hallelujah.” Tori Amos’s cover of “Landslide.” And Nine Inch Nails, “The Great Below.” Mostly things I associate with specific times & places or people.

There are a few…”Living Years” by Mike and the Mechanics. “Butterfly Kisses” and “Christmas Shoes” by Bob Carlisle are some that come to mind right off the bat.
