This, that, and everything else.

Good evening everyone in my Open Diary family and beyond. How has everyone been? Well I hope. I know there are some of my OD mom’s that have recently given birth and I’d like to say congratulations again. On this end things are starting to slow down.

Today the Spring semester of college ended. I believe I did rather well. Hoping for the Dean’s List this semester. As of right now I have 4 A’s out of 5 of my classes, but that isn’t counting my final exams. I’ll just be happy to not hear the alarm at 6:25 in the morning. Check back with me in about a week or so and I’ll be telling you that I’m dying for the Fall semester to start because the family is driving me nuts.

Had a meeting about Riley’s special needs. She qualifies for speech therapy at home so she will be starting UPK at our school in September, go half a day, and 2 days out of the week a therapist will come to the house and work with her on speech. Very happy about that. Hell, Riley is just happy she can go to school. We drive by the school and I tell her that that is where she will be going and she gets super excited. “My school Mommy!!? My school!!” I’m so happy. No more mopey Riley.

We have Owen’s end of the year meeting on the 2nd of June. It is being recommended that he continue through out the summer and that he go full time in September at Happiness House. That is exactly what I we wanted. We didn’t want him going half a day here at our school, coming home for a little bit to turn around to get on another bus to go back to Happiness House for another 3 hours. It has to be one or the other and we feel that he’d benefit from Happiness House. The summer thing caught me off guard though. I had to ask why. It’s just to make sure he doesn’t lose anything that he has learned this year. It’s not so much to learn anymore than to help him retain. I’m all for that. He has improved so much since the beginning of the year. We will for ever be thankful for being able to have him go get the special help that he needs.

Pat and I are doing well. We just “celebrated” our 5th year together. August will be our 2nd year of marriage…if anyone was confused for a moment. He was out of work for a little while. He was having muscle spasms in his neck and couldn’t move. Then he ended up being suspended for doing what he was trained to do. Yes, you read that right. It was not a typo. He got suspended for doing something with a truck that he was trained to do, another person on another shift seen him do it and turned him in. Turned into a huge investigation, blah, blah, blah. Anyways, to make a long story short, he was suspended for 3 days and back to work. Other than that, things are groovy.

On the Worker’s Compensation front…well I officially won the entire thing. So far they have paid the back payments of over $10,000 and they have started paying me weekly. They also had to pay me penalties for not paying me at all. We are now waiting for a diagnoses to determine permanency awards. Had an MRI on the 11th of May and I go and have a discussion about the results with the doctor on the 23rd. As it stands, the doctors thinks that seeing that the x-rays were normal and he is assuming the MRI will be as well, the I will be diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Where there was once an injury and it didn’t heal right where and made the nerves are now continuing to send pain signals to the brain. It’s a life long condition. One that can go into remition, but I will be in pain for life. Go figure, all this from tendinitis.

Well, must go get some food for the minions. Will try and update more. I am on Facebook daily if you want to find me. Search Amanda Keyser or just click the Facebook badge at the bottom. Until next time…toodles.

RSD is a nasty disease because it can spread.. I know people who started out with RSD in one spot and how have it full body. The doctors though I had RSD at first because of all the pain I have.
